    the mini (Minnie as in mouse) is only 9 miles and i'm walking it... doc OK'd a treadmill but absolutely NO INCLINE whatsoever... that will be another few months i think. he was really hesitant, but i explained if i go walking somewhere and i get tired, i have to walk back.. with a treadmill i can just get off. he seemed to be ok with that answer. now that its really nice here (texas) im going to start walking at the park. they have a trail that can be as short as 1/2 mile or as long as i think 3 miles, so it will work well with my training. sorry to hear about your weather... ick.

    Cindy, im scheduled to do the following: Minnie Marathon (as in the mouse) - 9 miles ... 04 May 08 - will walk it Chicago Marathon - 26.2 miles ... 11 (or 12) Oct 08 - will walk it Disney Marathon - 26.2 miles ... early Jan 09 - will run/walk it my goals for Minnie & Chicago are to simply finish... even the 9 miles right now seems so daunting cause i've been so inactive due to my plastic surgery... starting this week though... fun fun ...

    Buffet??

    sure, i've gone maybe 2-3 times since banded (october 06)... i just get a smaller plate (salad plate maybe) and a small piece of chicken or Prime Rib if they have it and some veggies. i normally split a piece of dessert with my DD.

    27 days left and i really need to kick it in gear. having my plastics so late in February (the 29th) really put a damper on my training. soooo, this week im going to walk M, W, F for a mile or two and Saturday i'm goign to try for 3-4 and see how i feel. the only bad thing is that i still swell so horribly when i am active. but it's just something i have to deal with, right??
  6. im a way TMI person too (all you have to do is read my posts here / blog to know that... :cool: i told pretty much everyone (some people - like my parents - didnt know until after though... after i had dropped 60 pounds and knew this was goign to work... i didnt want it to be another 'failed diet'... :purplebananna:)

    Would It Kill Me....

    i strongly suggest you follow your DOCTOR's direction. you went through surgery to help you lose the weight, an extra few days on liquids will not kill you. and to be blunt - to the people who said "i went on mushies/solids early and am fine"... how do you know? are you 4-5 years post op and no slip? the post op 'diet' is not to lose weight. it is to anchor your band into place to reduce the chances of a slip. the more you eat, the more your stomach churns, the more difficult it is to heal/anchor. good luck.

    amy... thanks ... plan this week is to go 3 days a week for at least 1/2 hour ... Disney (Minnie Marathon) is May 4th... YIKES ... 9 miles ... :regular_smile:

    salsa, sorry to hear that. hopefully the original surgeon will OK it with a month with your SIL karey, i've been walking 2 times a week for about 3 weeks now (started 2 weeks after surgery). my body HATES it and i swell like a freaking balloon after that and the next day im really tight (skin wise) but i gotta do it... i am up to a whopping 2 MPH now. i need to increase it to 4-5 times a week cause i have my minnie marathon may 2-4 at Disney and it's 9 miles... yikes!!!

    i have no idea what you mean - Mt. Dew has tons of ingredients in it... it has to be nutritious... right? ... guys, why do you keep telling me to get an unfill. there is NOTHING wrong with PB'ing on water ... really. you can lose tons of weight that way.
  21. i think it is a combination of what you eat and how much you move. when i was REALLY losing, (10-15+ pounds a month) i was properly restricted, eating what i should AND i was working my tail off at the gym. we're talking serious cardio 7-10 times a week (2 times a day a few days with rarely a day off). now that i am tucked, i plan on going back to that schedule as soon as my plastic surgeon clears me to intense exercise. you just gotta do it. there's no whining, no 'i dont want to', you just get up and do it. i changed my routine. instead of crawling out of bed at 615 and getting ready for work, i got up at 4 (gradually got up earlier - 600, then 545, etc.... i didnt just start getting up at 4). i found i was almost addicted to the endorphine rush of the exercise. i still love it and need to get back into the swing of things.... we can do it.

    ehh... that doesnt bother me... i LOVE their chili... (having some for lunch today actually)... it is the only thing i will eat there though.

    ok, you guys are really making me hungry ... and there is a sonic about 3 miles from me ... :huh2: their lime fresh fruit slushies ... OMG ... wonderful!! but .... i was 'good' yesterday, will be 'good' today - as much as possible with airport food.
