i believe Disney's point is that just because YOUR surgeon said it's ok for YOU to eat on day 6, does not mean that the original poster's surgeon will say it is OK. we are not here to tell newly banded people that it's OK to eat x days post op... WE DONT KNOW THAT. the post op diet is for healing, not to torture. anchor your band in place so it will not slip.

i agree with most here - there is no need for an age limit to get healthy

personally, i take an NSAID when i have pain (mostly menstrual once a month if that)... but you do need to listen to YOUR doctor ...

now seeing that you are overfilled now, i'd get a slight unfill... your original post gave me the impression you wanted an unfill just because you were going on a cruise...

the only time i'd recommend an unfill is if you are already very tight.. unfilling for vacation kinda defeats the purpose of the band... just my opinion....

Allison, i am so sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. i can imagine that triggering a lot of bad habits. i cant say if you've damaged your band somehow, but you may want to start off like a newly banded person ... liquids, mushies, etc... call your surgeon and see if they can get you in for an earlier fill. dont beat yourself up - almost all of us slip for a bit (myself included). use this board ... there is amazing support here.

oh, are you 6-8 years post op and know you band hasnt slipped? good for you, on are lucky!
