Lap Band done 5/15/08
losingjusme replied to cathydeb's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
hi Cathy, sorry to hear that you're having problems. :tongue_smilie: what's a typical menu like for you? are you eating Protein first then veggies then minimal carbs? are you logging your food? are you exercising? sounds like you really need a fill - why wait? is it your surgeon's directive? good luck. -

losingjusme replied to Mommie_of_4's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
hi, im in the DFW area, but not currently concentrating on losing (almost 10 weeks pregnant)... i'd be happy to email. :cursing: sorry your DH isnt supportive. welcome to LBT. -
that just baffles me that people think that. i dont know a non-banded person that could just sit there and eat 21 ice cream bars... even when i was at my pre-surgery weight i dont think i could have done that!!

ok, one thing that really seems to settle my morning sickness is Sprite, but it is full of liquid calories that i dont want to consume right now. anyone try sprite zero? does it taste the same as Sprite? i dont want to make a special trip to get it tonight if it tastes like .. umm, not good. thanks.

a variety of questions.
losingjusme replied to LindseyOliver's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Protein - not sure how much is absorbed at a time, but you dont eat 60g of protein in one setting ... break it out throughout the day. protein will help initially with the healing. i generally get 75-90g protein a day. spicy - yup, no problems. but, once filled properly, depends on what kind of spicy food. some people have problems with chicken, some with beef, etc... depends. fills - i think i received 1 and 4 weeks, then another 4 weeks. waited about 6 weeks then was at a good spot for awhile (2-3 months). went in for another fill then another a couple months after that. as you lose weight, your inner stomach shrinks so you may need more restriction. i was a snug 5-6X so it initially took awhile to start dropping sizes to where i NEEDED new clothes (started falling off)... after i hit 30/32, it was a rapid descent and then i was stuck in 22/24 for 3-4 months, then 18/20 came. i was banded in October 2006 and was in 18/20 by January 2008. had a tummy tuck and was able to fit in 14s, but am now pregnant and have an increasing tummy again. i know there is a clothing exchange on this board, you may want to try there. best of luck to you. -
