    Is anyone NOT exercising???

when i was first banded (yes, even at 400 pounds) i exercised. the weight fell off of me. i lost 100 pounds in just over 6 months. yes, i was following the main bandster rules, but what made a difference was working out 5-8 times a week. after i hit about 135-140 pounds lost, i started slacking on the exercise. i didnt want to ... i was working hard and had a 4 year old daughter with horrible sleep habits. i've lost maybe 20 pounds since then. yep, still follow the bandster rules 95% of the time... but i didnt exercise like i did when i first started. i'd go running maybe 2-3 times a week to train for my 15K, but even that, i'd make excuses... now that i'm pregnant, i havent exercised since early June. morning sickness and exhaustion really got to me. but you know what - those are excuses. excuses got me fat in the first place and i'm sure as all that excuses are not going to keep me fat. so despite being exhausted (morning sickness finally has gone away), i am making the committment to go to the gym a few times a week. just freaking do it. if you are exhausted in the morning, go in the early afternoon after a nap maybe. quit making excuses and start really losing the weight. if i, a former 402.5 pound couch potato, can do it - i truly believe anyone can...

wasa, what a great post. i find the above especially true... there is a great need to change the mindset. celebrating does not have to be with food. you lost 15 pounds??! THAT'S WONDERFUL ... go get some smelly stuff from Bath and Body... you lost 50 pounds?! FABULOUS - get a pedi from a nice salon. pamper yourself... take care of yourself... its worth it. and you didnt mention this but in regards to cravings... if you are really graving something, take a toddler fork and you get ONE BITE. that's all you need....
  13. ok ... since i've been outted on LBT, i'll come out of the closet here... i am once again preggers. im hoping this one sticks cause i really dont feel like i can go through yet another miscarriage (last one was Feb 2008). i pretty much knew even before my period was late, took a test, came back very faintly positive - that was about 24/25 May. took another test 7June PM and 8June AM and they both came back nice and positive. took yet another one 10June and holy **** it came back positive faster than the control strip. i had a blood test 10June as well and that came back +, so im going again today for another hCG reading to see it (hopefully) go up. so i'm really paranoid and just want this little baby to grow. im 6w1d right now - due in February if all turns out well... so please... if you could keep your fingers/toes/eyes/whatever crossed, i'd appreciate it. thanks!! UPDATE 6/12 505pm tests dont look good. hCG is really low. this sucks. yet another update im going to chill out. i MAY be ok... deep breaths ... deeeeeeeeeeep breaths...... deeeeeeeeeeeeep breaths.......
  14. hi, mods are located at the very bottom of the sub-forum main page (August 2008 bandsters home page for example)... i've gone ahead and made that thread a sticky. have a great day.

    What's going on?

you may be a tad too tight and if you're like me, you may get tighter in a few days. take it easy with for a couple days (liquids/mushies) if you aggravated your stomach and if its not better maybe a slight unfill is needed

Is my experience normal and what should I do?

Cheryl Ann, i suggest a slight unfill especially if you are PB'ing daily. this is NOT good for your band. you may want to visit the complication section to get some ideas of what happens with a slip. best of luck to you.

    Starting out exercising?

i started out very S L O W... i think my first exercise "session" was on the treadmill for about 5 minutes at 2-2.5 MPH. but i went consistently. every other day i went to the gym. at first, it took me longer to drive there than to exercise, but i gradually built up. dont get discouraged, you can do it!!
