CONGRATS!!!!!! arent most bosses jerks? sorry -- wayyyyyyyy too many crazies who can be on here... join FB...you know you wanna... if you are concerned about a virus, dont do the quizzes, etc.... just update... i can send DD over ... she'll keep you entertained... he's doing ok ... still has jaundice and eating issues (only ate about 12 oz yesterday), but we're working thru them.. i cant believe it will be a week in about 1 hour 45 min!! last week this time damn i was in some pain (stupid half working epidural!!) dd is doing ok... a tad green around the edges, but she's coming around. PJTP - ok ... i wont go into details, but i'm becoming more physically active the past 2 or so days - im actually almost caught up on the laundry, dishes pretty much done right on time, unloading some of J's clothes, you name it... the things they DONT tell you about for when after the baby comes ... scared the crap out of me... i thought i was dying .. literally... -
you know, Heather - there really isnt a way TO describe how i was feeling. i think you pretty much nailed it though... looked nothing like i expected but didnt have a clue WHAT to expect. i actually think my first thought is "you have your father's nose"... and i did notice he has little white specks (assuming baby pimples??) on it... all i remember is looking into his eyes and just being amazed that he is my husband and i combined. (*tears* - yes, still).... i knew i'd love him, but just did not imagine the enormity of my love for him. it was instant and indescribable... i never thought i'd say this but the labor pains really did become a memory ... i mean yeah, they hurt, but now i'm just kinda relating 'em to period cramps... bad ones but cramps none the less...

WE GOT IT!!! ok ... i know its been mentioned, but COBRA... hope your DD is better soon. PJTP... even with my preggo belly still there *i'm MORE swollen now than while i was pregnant!!!! CANKLES, i freaking have CANKLES!!!* DS fits with room to spare on my lap... only 12 more minutes and i can feed him and go to bed for probably an hour... catching up on all my DVR'd shows... watching this week's episode of biggest loser... you guys have been active... dang... -
thanks so much everyone... and i agree - FF - you do have one and you will be playing with him soon! i also posted this on my blog - here is my birth story ... well, Joshua's birth story... ok, here goes ... its pretty long, but it's everything i can remember. Joshua is the greatest... takes up a ton of my time by me just looking at him... my induction started at 8 on Thursday night (29January) with cytotek (?? – a cervical ripener) nothing happened after that until i received a second dose at midnight-ish then the contractions started very sporadically - although i had NO CLUE they were contractions ... i didnt know what they were supposed to feel like... so at 5:30am Friday they started the pitocin and just upped it every 15-30 minutes. the contractions were there but not regular (still)... about noon my Water broke on its own (thought i peed the bed - seriously - i was apologizing to the nurse and everything...) *one thing no one ever told me was once your water breaks, sometimes it just doesn’t stop …. my water did not stop flowing – errr – gushing - for a very long time – maybe until delivery ????* the contractions were finally regular enough to get my epidural about 230pm or so. unfortunately, the epi caused my BP to plummet (60s/20s) and Joshua did not like that and his heart rate went from the 140-150s to 70s for about 7 minutes. so they stopped the pitocin and that regulated my BP - i dont remember much of this at all - - i was really light headed from the BP issues and from the thought of a needle basically sticking out of my spine... i didnt know this then but they were basically prepping me for an emergency C Section there and then... rick was petrified of losing both of us. they made sure we were both stable for quite awhile before starting the pitocin again ... basically with the pit, they start it at level 2 and increase it by 2 every 15-30 minutes up to level 42... when they started it over, they had to start back at level 2 again. the bad thing is with my blood pressure, i was supposed to lay on my left side pretty much the entire time so the epidural wasnt exactly working properly. i felt the contractions on my right side starting at my back and radiating thru my tummy to about my belly button. when i flipped to my right side, i felt them on my left. not a fun thing at all. about 5 or so the contractions were REALLY strong but still irregular. i'd have a 'good' one then a mild one then a few minutes later another 'good' one... around 8 or 9ish, my OB came in and told them to start upping the pitocin every 15 mins vs the 30 they were doing to get things 'moving along'. oh dear... the contractions became VERY intense – so high they were “off the monitor” intense - and regular - every 3-4 minutes apart. at 1030 i was having severe contractions still but we noticed with each contraction, Joshua's heartrate dropped back into the 70s (vs 140-150s). i buzzed the nurse cause i was petrified of losing Joshua. they assured me they were watching and as long as the heartrate rebounded as soon as the contraction was over, all was well. a tad before 11pm my nurse came in to do an internal ... those are funnnnnnn - not... i was 90% effaced but only 3 cm dilated - still - since about 2ish and this is with the pitocin at the very highest level available (42). she said she would let my OB know and i knew right then i would be having a c section. my doc came in about 15 excrutiating minutes later and did another internal with the same results - all the hoping and wishing didnt dilate me any more unfortunately.... she confirmed my fear of the c section and the anesthesiologist came right in to start giving me mega epidural... he was literally pushing a whole syringe full into my line (before he was giving me a few cc's at a time). i asked if he'd be a 1/30 baby or 1/31 cause i like the idea of 1/31. they told me more than likely 1/30 cause they thought it would be a good idea to get him out ASAP. so in less than 1/2 hour, i was fully prepped (mostly prepped from when my BP dropped earlier), the OR was ready and i was on the table. the epidural still wasnt working and i felt the 'prick' of the needle around where they would make the incision line, so they decided to put me in 'twilight' .. after about 1 minute of that med, i was OUT ... i didnt feel anything ... i was nowhere near awake which was really disappointing. i did wake up to hear them say "her" (Rick said in reference to me) and i said Dr. G (perinatologist) said he was a BOY!!!! then zonked out again. i once again woke up as they were closing me with staples... felt every last one of those puppies... so at 11:47pm after about 20 hours of labor my son arrived. he is perfect. i never thought i could love someone i didnt even really know so incredibly much. i never thought i could share the love i have for Syd... but its just amazing... Joshua is now doing well. he was a bit jaundiced for a few days, but his levels came down today (yay!!) and he gained 1.5oz (yay again!) he really is so much fun... (although that is probably the sleep deprivation talking as well - up every hour or so (we have to feed every 2 hours) ... fun times but worth every sleep deprived minute!

updated the "update on me thread" http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f131/update-me-84732/index2.html#post1135014 labor sucks... -
well, not the ideal delivery at all... started the pitocin 530am Friday morning, contractions kicked in immediately, my Water broke on its own (i honestly thought i peed the bed), epidural came about 130ish - my BP tanked (from 150s/70-80 to 120s/50s), bean did NOT like that one bit and his heartrate dropped from 130-150 to 70 for about 7 minutes. they stopped the pitocin and bean was fine after that. about 5 or so, i NEEDED the epidural. i was having really bad - but infrequent - contractions. they started the pitocin again and contractions picked up quite severly. my epidural sucked... it only worked for 1/2 my body at a time so i would feel them on the left but not on the right... hated.every.minute ... the contractions were every 3 or so minutes and "off the charts" in intensity. about 11pm i was having very regular intense contractions and every time i had a contraction, bean's HR would drop to about 70 or so... so they checked me and i was only 3cm dilated (went from 2-3cm in well over 8 hours - NO progress basically despite bitch and a half contractions)... doctor came in and i just knew what she was going to say ... c-section time. they prepped the room and me in less than 1/2 hour, they needed him out since his HR was dropping with no progress. soooooo ... he's here, he's healthy and beautiful... 6lb 1oz 18.25 inches long. my OB was great and cut along my TT scar for the c section... only bad thing - i did have to get staples... oh well... thanks for your thoughts everyone!! now we just need to keep him eating... he doesnt like to eat much so i'm pretty much 'force feeding him' every 3 hours or so...

hi congrats on your pregnancy... there is no way to tell actual weight vs Water weight that i've gained ... initially i lost about 23 pounds, gained 19, and while i've been in the hospital i've gained about 30ish so about 26 pounds. docs seem to think at least 10-15 of that is water weight cause i'm putting on about 1.5 a day and NOT eating that much extra. hopefully the water weight will drop off pretty quickly... sorry you are on bed rest, i know how difficult it is with a small munchkin. good luck! -

OMG Mac, that's crazy!!! IS she really OK now? did she at least get his plate number? PJTP - i am reaaallllly not liking the Ambien... took some at 11, kinda drugged up feeling about 1145, slept 1155, now awake but VERY drugged up feeling (sitting down almost rocking back and forth) about 250... and i was soaked in sweat when i woke up... i'd love to go to the nurswes station and talk about it, but i barely made it out of the bed to the bathroom and back without falling over... plain .. help... is this 'normal'??? (and yes, i know this cant possibly be 'normal', but ... you know... -

losingjusme replied to NoPBJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
sorry you are having such issues ... couple things i've noticed... *you may be TOO tight... if you are chewing properly and eating the right foods (not cakes, candies, etc) you should NOT be PB'ing all the time and you should be losing weight *i know it's been mentioned - but SOME form of exercise... find something you like, start out slowly (swim for 20 minutes once a week for instance - gradually increase it then add some variety)... it really does help and will more than likely help with the energy (plus when you start losing, you'll get more energy) *once you PB, go on liquids for at least 18 hours after ... ideally 24 hours *i agree with the post(s) that said talk with your surgeon... they should be able to help you good luck -

losingjusme replied to eejaydiva's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
well the one good thing about fluid gain is that usually within 48 hours its gone ... HOPEFULLY cause it's been a consistent 1-2.5 lbs a night for the past week or so. when i first came in, i dropped about 7 - 8 lbs, not so much any more... -

i didnt start gaining until my 26-27th week or so (was losing a lot before then)... i have since caught up and passed it with the preg induced hypertension. i am gaining quite a bit of Fluid (no way i can eat 9000+ cals a day in here to gain 2+ pounds a day). my fingers/feet and face are starting to get real puffy. i never had the puffy face until i got here (lack of activity is my guess) be careful out there with the nasty weather!!
