Should people barely over 200 lbs or below 200 get Lapband or any WLS...?
losingjusme replied to Froggi's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
just agreeing and stating an opinion... the ignore works both ways. She - i wish the US was as medically progressive with the band as Aus is. yes, i was HUGE (5'9" 402) when banded, i wish i would have known about it when i was 200-300 pounds. i would have begged and borrowed to have been able to pay for it - insurance coverage or not. -
well fairy, the reason i lost is cause i was too tight for about 2 of those 3 weeks.... i literally ate about 3-4 bites of food with each meal. the only reason i didnt lose more is cause of one of my cravings (still crave/eat them actually)... Hostess Cherry pie... OMG!!!! soooo good. the funny thing is, i never used to like them. but now, i get one and eat 2 bites of it and then throw it in tupperware and it lasts a few days...

ummm... ok, confession time... i gained DOUBLE DIGITS between my 5th and 13th week ... between 13 & 16, i lost 9 pounds... i wouldnt sweat it for 2 pounds really. are you following bandster rules? i wasnt i was nauseated all the time and the only thing that helped was a Sonic lime fresh fruit slush (pure sugar pretty much)... keep us posted...

Any TLBC patients out there?
losingjusme replied to badexperience tlbc's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
sorry you've had a bad experience. please tell us your fill level, what are you eating? are you exercising? those are all very important factors. the band is only a tool, you have to work it for it to work. good luck. -

Need help from Fort Worth, Texas
losingjusme replied to jmh's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
i didnt have Dr. Carter, but since you asked about bedside manner - on the date of my surgery i was PETRIFIED... white as a ghost, they couldnt find a vein for the IV, etc... not a good experience. AND my surgeon was nowhere to be found. Dr. Carter sat on my bed and tried to calm my nerves a bit... i will never ever forget that... one thing i have heard - he is VERY conservative with his fills. best of luck to you! -
oh dear... you dont know the half of it... :tt2:
