i had my fill on Monday. i honestly did not feel the needle go in - in fact i even asked if it was in!! the worst part for me was the barium swallow. i darn near gagged, but it was over in less than 5 minutes (and that includes me climbing up on and off the table) ... i was extremely nervous because i hate pain, but it was ok. and as a bonus, the day i was on liquids then 2 days on mushies - - i lost 8 more pounds...!!!! good luck to you!

What would you change in your banding journey?
losingjusme replied to Fauxnaif's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
only thing i would have changed is doing it sooner. i thought any WLS was 'the easy way out' - HA! but, i'm glad i am on my way and at this point, would do it again -
i dont really even know where to begin. i was banded on 09 Oct 2006 and my life has changed. i never believed the 'bullshit' that others boasted about ... how there was just this transformation ... well there has been. when i stepped on the scale at my MD's office i was rather shocked when it read 402.5, but not really. it wasnt even my highest ... i had been teetering between 415 and 395 for awhile now.. not anymore. how does someone get to be 400+ pounds? well, i like food. not always a lot of food just junk food. there were days where i would "skip" lunch and much on the mini reese's pb cups. going thru a huge bag in just a few days. in addition to that, i did not move. if i was sitting on the couch, i would ask my husband to get up and get me something to eat and/or drink... well, i am now following (99% of the time) the bandster rules. i admit i went to a buffet and resorted to my old ways. i ate ... oh boy did i eat. i also gained weight. no shocker there. i am also moving my ass. i joined 24 hour fitness 10 months ago .. i just started going there 2 weeks after my surgery. when i started, i barely managed 8 minutes on the treadmill ... today i went twice and logged almost 70 minutes ... with an incline of a max of 10.5 - i'm not sure how high it goes, but in the next few weeks, i will find out. granted i was at 10.5 for just a tad over a minute, but i was at 9 for 2+ minutes about 6 times. and the bizarre thing? i want to work out! :sick my gym bag is already packed for tomorrow. i have my 2nd personal training session and i think she is probably going to kick my ass... but being the weirdo that i am, i'll probably like it.

No weight loss because I eat too much
losingjusme replied to hula girl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i had a very difficult time with this as well. i started practicing during my pre-op diet. it is crucial to your success that you break this habit. take one drink before you start eating then remove the glass from the table. you can do this! -
i had my fill yesterday morning, i was on liquids all day yesterday and had "mooshies" today - scrambled egg for b-fast and cheddar mashed potatoes for lunch. i had surgery 09 October.

Help?? 4 Days Post Op And Still The Pain
losingjusme replied to FullofGRACE's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
it took me 2-3 days to feel more awake. "normal" for me took a bit longer, probably a week. remember - everyone heals differently. baby yourself, remember to take your short walks though. give your body the time it needs to heal. -

it may be too fast. try slowing it down a bit. you are less than a week post op, take it easy and 'baby' your tummy. maybe it's too thick?? too rich? good luck. -

losingjusme replied to M.GUERRA's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
hi Michelle. welcome! remember the first several weeks are the healing phase. any weight loss is a 'bonus'. when you start getting fills, that should curb your hunger (i hope, i have my first fill Monday) and get you losing more. good luck! -

one month ago tonight i was preparing to be banded. oh what a month it has been. i go in for my first fill Monday. my attitude has completly transformed. before banding, i did not move - at all. i asked my husband to get up and get me a tea, i asked him to do this, do that ... etc... today, you know what i did - i worked out at 24 hour fitness - - TWICE!! yes, i went in the morning and then i went after work. i had my first visit with my personal trainer today, she kicked my @$$ totally!! but obviously i am a glutton for punishment so i went back and went for 37 mins on the treadmill - a personal 'high' for me. my first day at the gym, i walked for 8 minutes - it darn near killed me, every time i went i increased my time on the treadmill by 2 minutes or more, and here i am - actually wanting to go to the gym. i never ever imagined i would want to work out and at 375 pounds, i never thought i would be able to go for more than 15 mins on a treadmill. based on advice from, well, everyone - i took pictures before surgery and will take pictures every month. i took pictures tonight. http://www.losing-jusme.com/pictures/index.cfm there is also a 'comparison page' http://www.losing-jusme.com/pictures/compare.html this is my motivation. my best wishes for all who have just been banded and those who are about to be banded ... if I can do this, you can too!!!!

thanks gals ... i am just in awe of my mental transformation on working out... whoda thunk it???? ME - exercising?? huh???! (i didnt get to 402 lbs by working out!) looking at the pictures and seeing the changes has really pushed me to work out even more. i have an aggressive 'first goal' of a total of 60 lbs gone by 08 December. i have another 26 7/8 pounds to go. i think if i continue to work out as much as possible, i could make that goal. :faint: i do need to get a fill though, i am eating too much .. and getting way too hungry. i do not want to feel like i am depriving myself of anythign and right now, i do because i dont want to eat more...

that is wonderful! congrats!!! :clap2: :clap2:
