A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?
losingjusme replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Synicalchick a body bugg is a device that tracks calories in and calories out. you wear it on your arm whenever you are not sleeping. it is supposed to be really good and i'm thinking about getting it. the only drawback i found is that it does not calculate your heartrate. -
oh how awesome is that? Paris is my 'most favoratist' city in the world!! congrats & welcome to band land!!

Can I make this work???
losingjusme replied to LstNTranslation's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
welcome Lost ... i think you would be fine going out to eat, though you will eat a considerable amount less than you do now or you risk doing the PB and sliming... you will get to know 'your sign' that you've had enough. some people it is a hiccup, my nose runs a tad, pretty much everyone has A SIGN that 1 more bite and i'm in trouble ... my DD/DH and I do dim sum on Sundays - here is what i usually have: 2 maybe 3 shu mai 1 small piece of shrimp wrapped in rice noodles w/ soy sauce - dunno the name of it maybe ha gau (sp?) 1/2 - 1 egg custard tart and i am then satisfied ... i also work for a major airline and love to travel and have not found it too difficult. sometimes my band is a bit tighter right after a flight, but not too bad. good luck! -
Keeping it secret - what excuse did you use at work?
losingjusme replied to TerriDoodle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

I am 5'8" and 185lbs (40-45 lbs overweight)
losingjusme replied to kristendesig9er's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
my GOAL weight is 180 and i am 5 9ish ... i honestly do not think they would band you, most MDs say 100 pounds overweight or 35 BMI w/ 2 co-morbidities ... maybe try some other sort of exercises? log your food intake, maybe work out with a personal trainer? -
i've had 3 very aggressive fills - total of 9 ccs in a VG band

First Six Months of Lap Band: Average Weight Loss??
losingjusme replied to bwaydiva's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
i am about 5 1/2 months out (banded 09 October 06) and as of today i am down 84 1/2 pounds. why do i think i have dropped the weight well? i started at 402 1/2 ... i have a lot to drop - still.. i follow the bandster rules 85 - 95% of the time i work my ass of at the gym. i go 6 or more times a week. cardio 6 times a week and strength training 3 times a week. i am currently working Bob Greene's Total Body Makeover and it seems to have broken my plateau.. imagine that - eating right and exercising does work!!! :omg: and a lot of help from my 'little friend'... 38.06% of my excess weight is gone (based on wanting to lose 222) 20.99% of my body weight gone for good ... -
hey, at least it was light - i had full fledged Starbucks Mud Pie Ice Cream bar... oh my gawed it was sinfully delicious!!!

How Many Calories Do You Consume On An AVERAGE Day?
losingjusme replied to WASaBubbleButt's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
usually about 1500 if i exercise that day. about 1000 if i do not. -
hi ChinaMom i sent you a PM as well but thought i'd respond here as well. my DD was reason #2 i did this surgery (myself being #1). i am sooooo glad that i did this surgery, it has literally changed my life. i am WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more active and i actually skipped while holding my daughter last night ... we both had an absolute blast. plastic surgery may be needed but that also depends on exercise and your age. Tracew, you have done a fabulous job!!!! congrats.

i agree with the removable shower head ... they finally got one at my gym now i'm a happy camper. what i do to really dry off and on warmer days (i'm in Texas so they are starting soon) is get a hand towel and put it under my pannus .. just keep it there. i usually tuck it in and my belly is still so big you cant even see that it's there.. it definitely helps me be "not stinky". i dunno if i could handle the feeling of deodrant there ... too 'slimy'... -
OH MY GOD Tami!!! that is just jaw dropping!!! you have done a wonderful job and it shows. i've read you recent blog entry and if i could (umm, would) do 1/2 the stuff you do, i know i'd be down even more than i am now ... yes, i've lost 80'ish' pounds, but i started out at 402 pounds .. i have A LOT to lose ... your post is going to help me get my (umm) stuff together. thanks for the well needed and deserved kick!!

Diet Coke Lovers.......will I survive without it?
losingjusme replied to jag65's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i loved my diet cherry coke ... would have at least 2 - 20oz bottles during the work day... as soon as my MD said cut out the soda, i did. pretty much cold turkey. since i've been banded (5 months ago today actually) i think i may have had 3 sodas ... and as long as i sipped them, i was ok ... but i'd rather not even go there ... replace the soda with crystal light / mineral Water / whatever .. your body will deal with it... good luck! -
Toqu - wow, how awesome is that!!???? congratulations!

for 2 whole minutes .. 2 sets of 60 seconds each ... it was great, amazing and really got the endorphins flowing ... WOW WOW WOW!!!! i havent posted, i havent returned PMs, i have just been really busy at work... please forgive me ... i do read and you are all my inspiration. weight loss is pretty much at a standstill at about 80 pounds, but my inches are "melting away" ... ok not that much, but i am definitely losing inches... this is so COOL!! i am almost 5 months post op and have lost 80 pounds ...

Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
losingjusme replied to DeLarla's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
i cannot believe it has already been 5 months... picture time! weight loss has REALLY slowed ... REALLY REALLY slowed, but i know i am gaining muscle... in fact, if i compare 4 month and 5 month pics my shoulders and chest area look bigger in the 5 month pics, but the shirt hangs lower ... go figure... i am down just about 80, pretty much the same as last month (less than 4 pounds lost last month :girl_hug: ) -
great job on resisting the cake. that happened to me and i just said that i'm just not hungry for sweets right now... it didnt hurt that the cake just did not look good ...
