What I like most about exercising....
losingjusme replied to TerriDoodle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i like Julie's answer of being in control - a lot!! i also like being able to push myself ... initially going on the elliptical for 1 mile ... getting close to a mile, then pushing myself to 1 1/4, then 1 1/2 and next time i look down i am at 2 miles - so very empowering!! -
25 mins elliptical - 2 miles all over 10 incline - 6 mins 20 incline 11 mins bike - 4 miles i made my May challenge goal of 85 miles

I am worried about dying under anesthetic!
losingjusme replied to caz1970's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
that was my main fear, that i wouldnt wake up when i was supposed to. this surgery has changed my life completely. i now exercise 5-9 times a week and have lost 98 7/8 pounds since October 2006. i would do this surgery again in a heartbeat. -
BetsyJane, me too - one day. not ready for it yet though... today was a great workout elliptical - 13.5 mins - 1.5 miles - 20 incline for over 4 mins!!! bike - 26.5 mins - 9.5 miles elliptical - 16.5 mins - 1.25

kity took the words out of my mouth. i go 5-9 times a week (generally 6-7 though). one day i do 45 mins cardio and upper body, the next i do the cardio and lower body. one thing i have been doing lately is the interval training. i will go REALLY hard on the elliptical (190-220 RPM) for 2 minutes, get off and then do weights (1 set of 15-20), get back on the elliptical, same thing 190-220 RMP, then back to that first machine. do the same machine 2-3 times and then do a cool down with cardio. this should take about 45 - 60 mins. it is a TOTAL butt kicker, but it got my weight loss going again. i would not do this until you are in good cardio shape. (i am fat yet fit at the same time if that makes sense). good luck with the elliptical. i could only do a few minutes at first. it's a machine i love to hate.

losingjusme replied to NurseLaureli's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
sorry to hear about your accident! i would call the surgeon just in case. -
i am a pear too. i hate it! size 18/20 top, 22-24ish bottoms, sometimes higher :phanvan i do the elliptical as well, today i cranked it up to a 20 incline (highest it would go) and it kicked my butt... SO HARD! my knees crunch as well, i hate it.. i just keep on whatever i can do to burn the fat. have you tried Aqua? the only bad thing with that is being in the Water exhausts me. good luck!

lol ... somehow i doubt that! i did fidget quite a lot today. i read somewhere (no idea where but it was recent) that you can burn up to 300 cals a day by fidgeting - so that's what i did ...
-
Chickie, not sure if i agree with you. i look towards you (and others who have done SO well) as my inspirations. keep posting, please!! i often feel the same way though about the fact that most people have to EAT (more than 6-800 cals/day) and move in order to lose weight.

losingjusme replied to smatyas's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
i was pleasantly surprised to see Melinda go last night ... now it will be a good 'fight' for top idol. i am rooting for Jordin, but if Blake wins, that would be fine with me too. -

Would you do it again?
losingjusme replied to TerriDoodle's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
ABSO-FREAKING-LUTELY!!! i have never been able to stick with a diet long enought to lose 98 pounds. i am still about 113 pounds from goal so i have a LONG way to go still, but i know the band will help. i, too, LOVE sweets. pre-band, my 'lunch' (or post-lunch) would be about 20+ mini reeses Peanut Butter cups ... every day (gee, wonder where the 402 pounds came from). i agree with JMCAMBRA, off the sweets for pre and post op diets helped a lot with the sugar cravings. i do have something probably once a week and if i am craving more, i look at my before/current picture and that usually keeps me away from the stuff i dont need to be eating. -
