Winter Cruise anyone???
losingjusme replied to princess_n_thep's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
i'd love to go, but would rather go next year. -
i vote for no time off as well. i like the idea of the monthly challenges, but may start a 'rest of summer' challenge on another post. i need to get back into gear. started Low Carb after a few days of a break ... shhhhh .. dont tell Tann ... btw, Tammy - i did make that cheesecake ... OH MY!!!! it was soooo good!!
-
sorry you are having problems. i have taken immodium before (after banded) without any problems, but if your surgeon says Pepto only, i'd try him again.
-
i have transferred my food addiction to both shopping (only moderate) and exercising (quite active). as long as they are not destructive and my spending does not get out of hand, i am ok with those behaviors.

Deanna, Thanks so much! i do not see myself as a smaller me on a daily basis. i still think of myself as being 400+ pounds. however, i do have my 'moments of clarity'... i was getting dressed a couple of days ago and just noticed that my (big) belly is no longer gigantic. i can now see my thighs when i sit down. but i see these things and it just tickles me pink... i can now drive my DH's car. last year this time, i couldnt even get behind the wheel and if i did HAVE to, i had to recline the seat and tilt the wheel all the way up. now i can slip in, not adjust the seat and leave the wheel where DH keeps it and i fit fine ... :whoo: its the little NSVs that make this worth it.

This is weird - but I miss have a mouth full of food!
losingjusme replied to susansilver's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i'm with Jachut. i take a mouth full of food, chew, swallow, chew, swallow, etc... then another 'bite' ... it just doesnt work for me to take small bites. you have to be really careful towards the end of your meal though or you could have to end up spitting a tad out, but you learn when to take a small bite vs a large bite. -

congrats sweetviolet!! -
thanks Tonya. i low carbed it for 2 weeks and lost 20 pounds... but i was eating VERY VERY VERY low carb (usually no more than 10-15 per day). i have taken time off from low carb (and actually have eaten horribly these past 2 days) so i am sure some has come back on, but i'm OK with that. i am back to low carb either tomorrow or Saturday. i just dont want to exercise right now. i am just not in that mindset. even though i KNOW i feel better when i do so. **sigh** you, however, are such an inspiration to me. i cant believe you are doing the BFL ... i dont even think i'd make it 2 weeks!!

i post my daily food on my blog (most days)... -
hi Harlito, what are you eating? you can work out all day long and eat horribly and that would make you gain ... (of course i am NOT talking from personal experience ... ) good luck!

Can The Doc Miss? How Much Is Enough?
losingjusme replied to Ryanband07's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Suz, you are in what is referred to as "bandster hell". you do have restriction (natural stomach anatomy does not have a circular band around it). my advice is to still follow the bandster rules. Protein, veggies, then if still hungry, carbs. it could take up to a few fills to hit your 'sweet spot' good luck! -
A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?
losingjusme replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
gibson, great idea, but there is NO way i would let anyone see me practically naked the way my body is ... they would lose ratings!!! -
do you mean minutes?? my surgeon suggested 30 mins of activity a day. there are many threads (and opinions) on exercising. i strongly suggest it. here is a recent thread about exercising. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f81/help-i-need-convinced-i-should-exercise-36971/

Help I need convinced that I should exercise
losingjusme replied to violeteyes37's topic in Fitness & Exercise
i have to add my .02 too ... my starting weight was 402.5... exercising was the FURTHEST from my mind. i got banded and starting working out. my first day on the treadmill i lasted about 7 minutes. by the end of November, I could go 35 on the treadmill. did i like it? NOPE! but i saw major results. since then, i have realized that i really like to exercise. it is ME time. i now go 6 times a week for at least 30 minutes. if i do not work out, i do see a stall. my time on the elliptical burns a ton of calories. i have lost almost 117 pounds in under 9 months.... just do it!! -

maziemommy, thank you so much!! i am already starting to talk to my DH about plastics just to prepare him. i am thinking at the minimum a lower body lift (tummy, legs, hips, etc) and maybe a breast lift as well (no implants though). if i can get a good deal and enough time off, i'd like my bat wings to become arms once again. my ideal (dream) situation. i find a PS that would agree to just cut my stomach off >>> LMAO ... if it wasnt for my stomach, i'd feel 'normal'. you know what i mean? i mean my legs and arms are bigger than what i want them to be, but as i am walking around, it's my stomach that eyes go to. even just in passing, their eyes do meet mine to say hi then down they go to my tummy. i just want to get rid of this stupid stomach NOW!!! sorry for the mini rant. yes, i think the exercising has helped considerably, but when i hit 200 pounds (that would be 20 lbs to my initial "goal weight"), i will have PS. i'll more than likely go to Mexico for it. as far as hygiene, the only problem area i ever had was underneath my stomach and since i still have such a stomach, i still take the 'towel' precaution on really hot or active days. vacation was fun. my DD got to meet all of her "friends" (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, etc...) congrats on 40 pounds! you can do this!! -
Tammy, just the thought of losing 200 pounds baffles me. you are such an incredible inspiration to me (and others, i am sure). you are doing a 'fantabulous' job!! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Josette, Try low carbing it for a week, bet you'll hit your goal!! low carbing it really works for me. i am down almost 20 pounds in 2 weeks.... of course i TOTALLY blew it tonight (i wanted Italian and ate Italian) and tomorrow is the Police concert, so low carb will be hard then too. So i will go back to low carb on Thursday. i refuse to go on a 'diet' so i can't "go off"...
