    ok, so i did cave and bought it. the device costs $99, but the experience actually cost me $716, i bought 10 more full hour sessions with my trainer. it is really cool and VERY simple to set up. you basically push and hold buttons and then synch your bugg. attached are 2 pics. the "watch" is pretty ugly so i will more than likely just clip it on my clothes and wear it that way.

    you know - that is the exact reason i post my pics on line and on my blog ... if i can help one person, it's worth it.
  6. i agree with Faith (as usual). if you are 'hurling' with solids, why continue with them? your stomach/pouch are swollen, give it a rest and try liquids for a day or two.

    PB? Worse Experience of My Life!!!

    i just had my first really bad PB last night. i just recd my last fill Thursday and ate about 1.5 oz of salmon and no "one more bite and you'll be in pain" warning. it hurt so bad, my chest felt like an elephant was sitting on it. it was also the first time i slimed and then it all came back up. it was quite violent. i am on liquids and very mushy mushies today and probably tomorrow.

    i agree with everyone else. dont go through this alone. it is SURGERY. i know it may be difficult because you think he will not understand, but think of how he may react if you do it without telling him. if my DH did that to me, i would be livid! when you sit him down, maybe tell him not to interrupt you and give him your reasons why you want it. tell him that it IS safer than bypass, etc... you can still plan on having the surgery, even if he is not 100% on board with the idea of banding, ask him to be there for you the day you have surgery. best of luck to you and keep us posted.

    Help! What is the secret?

    just dont do it. trust me, i've been there. pre-banding i would have 3-4-5 glasses of tea gulped with my meals. dont even pour something for you to drink when you eat at home. if you eat out, if you MUST have something before the meal, ask the server to take it away when your meal comes. you can do this. think of the benefit that not drinking will give you (stay satisfied longer). good luck.

    more info on the "watch" 24 hour fitness has them (only 4 in stock) and cannot (will not) sell until Friday. They are $99+tax and they give you an immediate readout of where you are. i had them reserve one for me. yup, imageek.

  21. it really could be a safety issue. they cant really judge, ok, this person is big but can move but this person not so much. (i work for a maajor airline and hate it, but understand it)
  22. michiganer, i am so sorry that happened to you. Jane, congratulations! That is a GREAT BMI drop!! i love MFD. i usually do not go there for the "support" (here is the place to be ), i did post something about lap band once and it was well received. not much 'flaming' going on that i've seen. i think it is worth the 9 bucks. it keeps me accountable and is easy to use. when i first started out, i was treadmill only. started with 8 minutes and gradually increased day by day. i know this is easier said than done, but dont worry about what others are thinking. you are there for YOU. i am pretty sure when i first started (and who knows - maybe still) that people were like look at the fat chick on the treadmill, but you know, you are taking care of the 'fat chick' and turning her into a 'hot chick' (or hot guy - not sure of your sex - ) great point daddy...

    i had it too for the first couple of weeks. even though i thought i was drinking enought, i wasnt. up your Fluid intake by about 3-4 ounces an hour. if that doesnt work, double it. good luck!

    i go early morning (420ish) then go to work, but that doesnt look like it would be good for you... one suggestion, dont put this off on your DH ... you need to do this for YOU!!! :mad: i liked the idea that someone had about tapes/videos in the morning, but i think you will get more out of maybe going to the Y. i agree with packing the night or morning before. i find if i do not pack my clothes the night before, i am not going to work out the next day. best of luck to you (i had Dr. Marsden as my Sx too)
