Dr. Marsden was my surgeon. Very nice and down to earth. I had no problems. I was banded in October 06 so the new band wasnt out yet. Why not call and ask? RE Support groups - AIGB has the support groups once a month and i've heard are great. -
i have taken Lipo6 - it's a fat burner. i noticed no difference and quit taking after about 2 weeks.

isnt restriction a wonderful thing? of course the worker in our cafe today looked at me crazy when i asked for 1/2 a scoop of tuna salad... i actually only ate about 1/2 of it, saving the rest for my dinner or something ... -
yeah, that's the way i felt. i had to be 'anchored' in the 200s... you will make it!!

Worried New Bandster

nevijo, completely normal. you just had surgery. take it easy for a couple of days. -
Sharon Osborne did have her band removed ... she couldnt overcome the 'head hunger' and would binge/purge. very sad.

i actually was just given a new set from DH. he told me that my rings were literally falling off my fingers and i should have rings that fit well ... he said i could go back to my old rings and have them resized (very basic when we were just starting out 'poor') if i want to. i think i may do that and wear one set on my left hand and one on my right. ??? not sure yet though. the old set has deep sentimental value ... **sigh**

OK, so lets say you decided not to tell about surgery...
losingjusme replied to LMJLMJ's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i told work (i was in a lead position and had to tell my boss i would be out for a week, she asked why, and i caved - she however blabbed it to too many - another story), DH, and some friends. i had sugery in October and did end up telling my parents in December (after about 50 pounds left). best of luck to ya! -
plus, make sure you are staying very well hydrated. even when you are not thirsty/hungry drink!!

it was completely worth it for me. i have lost 125 pounds in almost 11 months (very high BMI to start). it has truly changed my life. i skipped with my daughter this morning. it was so much fun!!! i am living my life now. whatever your decision, i wish you the best of luck.

For those of us who weigh in daily!!
losingjusme replied to ragdollx19's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
so guilty! sometimes a couple times a day. my "official" weight is always taken right after i work out and shower in my gym. i'm wearing undies. wont even think about doing it nekkid in the gym. i did just get a new home scale Tanika (??) and love it. it measures body fat and Water %. the 2 scales are pretty much synched up. -

i agree, go on liquids for a day or two. you might have just upset your pouch a bit and it's irritated. -
Lottie, i agree with you that she is not a failure, but you are not her doctor. you do not KNOW for sure that she has not ruined her band. HER doctor said no solids for 4 weeks. she needs to follow what HER doctor suggested, not your doctor. every doctor is different and tells their patients what they want them to follow. this time is for healing. not for losing weight, not for losing inches, but anchoring that band into place. HSH, please start following your surgeon's guidelines - especially if eating solids hurts you. you can do this! good luck.

oooooooooohhhhhh ... Faith... SO close!!!

great job Wen. so close to the goal!! -
denise, yes, that's what it means. even if i just have a bite or 2 of something, no drinking. my surgeon says 1/2 hour is fine, but follow your surgeon's guidelines. it does get easier!
