  11. OK OK OK ... i think i'm going to try week 2 tonight after work. welcome Mrsking! JM & Whos .. you guys rock!
  12. everyone looks great!! i was looking thru my puter for more pics of 'Br and saw one of me and DH from 2004 ... ick! here is a comparison...
  13. Tammy, I am 269 and doing it. i have been doing cardio and have had a personal trainer though for a little over a year and am in relatively good shape. my advice is DEFINITELY start with week 1. no questions. in fact, i am kind of repeating it with a little longer run. go for time, not speed at first. if your run is 3 MPH, thats fine. push yourself but dont over do it. we do not want you injured. you may want to try it without the incline at first. S T R E T C H!!!!! you can so do this! welcome!
  14. jm - i agree. dont let a spin instructor get you down. a lot of the instrux at my gym have no idea what they are doing re weight training. i think i am going to do a week and 1/2 next week. run for 1:15, walk for 1:45 ... see how far i can go then. i am not ready for the full 90 second run, but can go more than the minute... good luck everyone!
  15. :Banane35::confused: ok, even now after i took my 'break' and came back ... i just cant motivate myself to eat right and work out properly. the only thing i am doing 100% is my running and i know i cant do that every day. i continue to eat garbage and i want to stop (really, i do) but it's like the old me is back saying "ok, Monday, stop eating garbage" or "ok, after your fill you can get your crap together". its not just eating either. i had a 1/2 training session this morning and barely went thru the motions. it seems i've even forgot why i was banded in the first place. i know to lose weight ... that's the "duh" part ... but WHY ?? to be healthier? (i am healthier now), to be able to play with DD? (no problem now), to have great ummm relations with DH? (check) ... to fit into 'normal' clothes (got it - 18/20 fits me now *down from 6XL*) ... i need to make more/new goals i know but i dont know what i want... well i do but one of them is so freaking petty (i want to weigh less than my sister - i dunno how much she weighs but she's going up) ... ***sigh*** i just need the motivation / kick in the pants ??? to see it clearly. i cant believe i had it and just lost it :Banane10:
  16. Hi everyone, OK, this is our first week in the Couch to 5K program. This is designed to be a 9 week program, but you can repeat weeks (as I will be doing) until you are comfortable moving on. However, you are not supposed to skip weeks. More information can be found here: Cool Running :: The Couch-to-5K Running Plan Attached is the first week in detail Anyone is free to join, no matter where we are!! This is the place to check in and support with each other and see how it is going. What week are you doing? How is it going for you? Is it too difficult / too easy? Any comments?? Good luck everyone! :whoo:

    Couch to 5K - Week of 14 ? 20 October

helllloooo ... i had my final run of week 1 today. it went fairly well. averaged 3.5 on my "brisk walk" and 4.2-4.3 on my runs. i am definitely going to rework week 1 next M W F. just to try it, i went a bit longer my final run and all i could do was about 1min 10ish seconds. soooo far from the 1 min 30 seconds that i would need to do. but tell ya what - i am burning major calories on my runs. i love love love it!! hope everyone is having a great week.... i actually cant wait til monday to start running again!

Do you think it's rude to correct another's grammar?

oh Rain, you just hit my hotspot. if i see someone who has done it more than a couple times - ignore... but of course, i am a bitch and i'm sure i am on a few people's IG list ... oh well ... back to topic of rude ... bingo...
  23. My new sig – unfortunately it wont all fit … this thread is great… <<back to my fried chicken, sirloin steak, baked potato meal even though I just had a fill and am supposed to be on liquids>> will I hurt my band?? - - - - - - - - - - No, I can't tell you which WLS to get. Yes, someone else has experienced it, whatever "it" is. No, I don't know if you're going to need PS. No, you're not in starvation mode. No, I don't know if your band has slipped 6 hours post-op. Yes, I've heard of it, whatever "it" is. Yes, I know you are hungry on Clear liquids. You'll live. No, I don't know which Protein shake you will prefer. What can you have week two of your post op diet? May I see your written instructions? Then I can let you know. Yes, exercise helps weight loss. No I dont regret this surgery or wish I had RNY your first fill wont work We all lose weight at different paces. My weight is not a good indicator of what your weight loss will be. You're six months out and haven't lost any weight because for the past 3 months you've avoided your doctor and you eat KFC everyday for lunch and dinner.

    Couch to 5K - Week of 14 ? 20 October

welcome Jaslady! it's nice to have more of us crazy runners around here... JM - when i first started awhile ago, i was having hip problems too. not horribly, but sore enough to notice. i knocked it down .3 MPH and that helped. maybe it will work for you too? i have my final run of week 1 tomorrow. i know for a fact i will repeat week 1 again next week, but that's ok ...
