    morning tightness

i cant eat anything until at least 11am. you said you cant drink anything either? you may be a tad too tight. maybe .1-.5 cc?? you should be able to drink all the time. although lately, in the early morning, it takes about 1/2 hour for me to get a shake down. good luck

  11. yup, me stirring the pot again... another forum i belong to has "the playground" which is a lot like RnR. in order to even view the threads you have to be a member for X months and have X posts. any thoughts on making RnR like that? things get quite heated over there and you need a tough skin... even though the header is prefaced with the disclaimer, it's been taken VERY personally by some newer members lately.
  12. Hi everyone, this is our seventh week in the Couch to 5K program. This is designed to be a 9 week program, but you can repeat weeks (as I will be doing) until you are comfortable moving on. However, you are not supposed to skip weeks. It has been strongly suggested by trainers and runners alike to NOT run on consecutive days. More information can be found here: Cool Running :: The Couch-to-5K Running Plan Please go to the cool running site to view your week’s detail. Anyone is free to join, no matter where we are!! This is the place to check in and support with each other and see how it is going. What week are you doing? How is it going for you? Is it too difficult / too easy? Any comments?? Good luck everyone!

Does cold weather effect a lapband?

hey, there's an idea! crank up the air and avoid fills... that's a great idea ... exactly. i am freeeeeezing right now. my hands are so cold it hurts to type. going to be 80 degrees this weekend in Dallas ... woooo hooooo!! (and 40s on Monday )

What have you done about your rings???

i, too, was lucky enough to get a new set of rings when DH got his promotion. my original rings were literally falling off and we went to the jewelry store to see about resizing and came out with new ones ... OMG!! they are size 7 and are now starting to fall off. i dont think i will convince DH to get yet another new set (not that i want one) so i will wait until i get really close to goal (15-20 lbs) and have them resized. in the mean time, i dunno what i am going to do. i was thinking about just getting a plain platinum band that fits to go on top of my set to hold it in place, but not sure yet.
  19. i think you should congratulate yourself for every pound. i 'celebrate' every big milestone (losing 25 pounds first, then getting to 350, then 299, my next is 250 and i want to get there by mid January). every single pound contributes to something ... so yay for everyone ... even if it is a pound down.
  20. Julie, you look absolutely stunning! C

    Pain when eating

that's what i do. i have to admit, i dont take small bites. i take 'normal' (not fat girl normal, regular person normal) bites. chew like crazy, swallow a little bit, chew, swallow, repeating until my mouth is empty. i've only swallowed the wrong part once, wont make that mistake again.

    fast food

i agree with most here... diet ... ick die-t. if i diet i fail. i eat what i want pretty much, just much much less. last time i was on a diet (atkins-esque) i lost 10 pounds in 1 week, but the following 10 weeks my weight went up and down the same 5 pounds. i have lost my taste for fast food pretty much completely. now the McD's has the McRib back (i know, i know) i did get one. i literally had 2-3 bites, was satisfied and pitched the rest. yup, it's a "waste of money" but i'd rather waste the money than have it end up on MY waist...

To Eat Or Not To Eat...

after i was on solids, my surgeon said try whatever i want to eat, take it very slowly and if i have problems stop. the only problem i have is with very dough-y bread. rice sometimes depending on my restriction level that day, but i normally know how tight i am. the really funny thing is, i used to be a massive diet cherry coke drinker, now i have no desire for it. every once in awhile, i will get one, take a few sips and be like 'ehhh... no biggie'. i have to be careful though because of the carbonation, it tends to stay in the pouch and i then have gas pains a bit.

Were you sure it wouldn't work?

i'm with Kacee on the accountability. i told people so i would look like a total dolt if i didnt lose the weight. that's why i post so much info on my blog. its the accountability, i want someone to ask me how it is going. if i got "the look" (should you really be eating that??!) i would say i am fine, this is not a diet, etc.... i still have a cookie (A cookie, not a bag of Cookies and they are more than likely Kashi or Health(ier) Choice)... i dont 'do' diets. i fail miserably at them. i am changing my life, watching what i eat 95% of the time and the weight is finally starting to drop again.
