well, i guess i could explain that my DH is Chinese... and she is a very thin Chinese woman .. but it's mostly DH's father. he is very critical. our first meeting, he asked me how much i weighed  i smiled and said 200 (i was about 275-280 at the time)...

Couch to 5K Anyone want to start with me ?
losingjusme replied to coltonwade's topic in Fitness & Exercise
LOL @ barbie comment... and Texgirly ... no, not too crazy ... yer one of us after all  -
they were actually OK with it. i explained that i wanted to do this and didnt want to be talked out of it. i knew they would try to do it . as for in laws, no way no how will they EVER know. they can ASSume all they want, but i told DH telling them would be grounds for castration... they are super judgmental and are disappointed that DH didnt marry a super tiny Chinese woman (ha - they got the exact opposite!!!) and have never really treated me with the respect that i deserve... so, they dont need to know this private information (that i am willing to share with just about anyone else - even strangers...)

Changing beliefs to fit behaviors
losingjusme replied to WASaBubbleButt's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
like Trixie, i have to disagree with this as well. i am fortunate enough to have UHC and they covered all but $1400 (deductible) of my surgery and fills only cost me $30. i think it does boil down to maturity and truly how bad they want it. **drooolll** mmmmmm ... steak.... i am going in for a fill Monday, can i have steak after that?? -
Anyone else having difficulty getting motivated to exercise?
losingjusme replied to regnur617's topic in Fitness & Exercise
whenever i get stuck and PB, my surgeon recommended liquids only for the next 24 hours. your tummy is swollen from the PB and it makes things even tighter. good luck. -
TheGh0st's Extended Tummy Tuck w/Lipo
losingjusme replied to TheGh0st's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Diane, so sorry about the shoulder and the weight gain. please dont let it get to you, it sounds like you are on the right path again, you can do this! i can relate about using vacation for surgeries. it sucks so bad, i will be using a week of vc if they dont approve the FMLA (doubt they will since i am almost positive it will be considered 'cosmetic') and i will be back to work 9 days after my tuck. that is starting to scare me. if you want a vacation, how about a long weekend somewhere? February/March 08 plastics
losingjusme replied to losingjusme's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I'm getting a fill Monday, we'll see if its a good one. if even slightly too tight I will unfill a tad. im not getting lipo on my butt, however, I want to get something for the toilet. think of how many tummy muscles you use just to get up! yikes not sure how many garments I'm going to get. Nina, I think I'm with you and will get 2 for now. I plan on wearing one for a good 6-8 months after, so I'll probably end up getting more in a smaller size eventually. I'll need to ask doc about shaving. (sorry in advance Neal) the thing I'm really worried about is TOM comes at the end of the month. my sx is on the 29th... -
question about getting a TT
losingjusme replied to JA4602's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
i go in for my TT on 29Feb, I was told I may not pick up my DD for at least 4-6 weeks. yes, it will be beyond difficult, but in the long run, it will be worth it. I am watching big medicine now, I can't wait to see how she turns out! -
i told my parents 2-3 months after my surgery. good luck

**sigh** i knew i wasnt going to be able to stick with it... i havent eaten anything so far today, i've had about a scoop of protein powder for this morning (made it w/ 2 scoops and drank 1/2 of it) and this afternoon made 1 scoop and drank about 4 sips before gagging. i really dont know what to do. this whole diet mentality messes me up so bad. banding is not about dieting, why am i doing this to myself? i get satisfied on a few ounces of protein (chicken) why cant i just do that?? now i feel like i am such a failure cause i cant do protein powder ... grrrrr. and yes, i know that its shitty tasting but i should just suck it up. -
travelgirl, i feel you ... i just cannot physically push myself in the afternoons like i can in the mornings. that being said, i havent worked out in the early morning all week long. i just cannot bring myself out of bed at 410am to do it. lazy lazy lazy me...

well, i am anxiously waiting for the peanut butter/chocolate flavor, it was recommended by laurend. i emailed amazon to see if i can send them back. all else fails, i will put some of the da vinci syrups in there and see if that makes things better. i literally almost gagged at the chocolate mousse... not a good thing at work (or anywhere actually). i am hoping if i can drop these 20 (or more) pounds, and they remove 20-25lbs, i will be about 30ish pounds from my first goal and see what happens. ideally, later, i would like a brachioplasty (arms), and my shark bite thighs taken care of as well. i may have a lift or something done to the girls, but not sure... they sure have deflated quite a bit poor DH! you know, even after the TT, i just cannot picture a flat tummy. i really cant. i've had a massive stomach since i can remember. -

to be honest, i didnt think i was ready for a LBL. when i first started plastics, i was thinking about my arms and maybe a tuck but just to see where i needed to be weight wise, it was suggested i get a panniculectomy... i went to a 2nd consult for a panni, and that doctor said he could do an extended tuck with lipo, explained how his procedure was different, showed me impressive pics and i was sold. also a good thing - GayleTX went to him as well and really liked him, so there you go. i will eventually need my thighs done, it looks like i had a 'shark bite' out of my inner thighs, but they are shaping up really well due to my running and leg workouts ... who knows -

FMLA for self in our company is paid via sick time (just doesnt count as an occurrence), when sick is out, you can use vacation then borrow vacation from next year. it has been an act since i've been working, so not sure how it was before.. i just hope they approve it. -
karey, love that mantra... it will be alright ... it will be alright ... it will be alright ... nina, eat some sauce ... you'll enjoy life SO much more, really.

hi Mandi, i normally eat a bigger afternoon snack (iSS Oh Yeah bar as opposed to nuts) if i will do some serious cardio (more than 30ish mins of running/walking) or major strength training. i usually eat a bit more at dinner if i'm not too restricted as well. maybe an additional 200-300 cals depending on what i do at the gym.
