Let's get some action going in here!
losingjusme replied to Gibson's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
gooood morning ladies! i, like maziemommy, started out with over 200 to lose and i am now down to needing to lose about 80ish. it's a bit different for us that have soooo much to lose. here i've lost about 150 pounds and am at a weight where people START their banding journey. just take it a bit at a time... little about me: from St. Louis, but transplanted myself to Dallas area married for 10 years (today is anniversary!!) to my very DH 4 year old daughter going in for plastic surgery on Friday (!!!!) free time (what's that?) i like to read and spend time with my family (and i love to travel) -
you're not the only one. you've seen where you can make improvements, take them one at a time if it seems too daunting. and you're right, once you have adequate restriction, you wont be drinking with your meals - unless of course you want them to revisit ... take it easy on yourself, you're not alone...

Gurgling noises??
losingjusme replied to MrsCooper's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
perfectly normal. there's a thread about this right here: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f178/gurgling-noises-when-i-eat-drink-52981/ since you were banded 3 days ago, just take everything slowly. congrats on being banded! -
i LOVE my trainer. she has gotten to know exactly what i need and gives it to me... for instance, sometimes, i need to the accountability, so if she doesnt see me at the gym for a few days in a row, she emails me telling me to get my rear to the gym... i had my last session with her Saturday and oh boy she kicked my behind. cant wait til i can go back to her in about 6 months...

:puke:oh... i know. nerves are getting the best of me i think. 3 more days of working, then a day of pampering (somewhat) then it's the day.. it's DH & my 10th wedding anniversary today.... so today is special too and Thursday the day 3 years ago our DD was placed in our arms, so it's a very special week.:wub: -
Terry, i have PCOS and have lost 150-ish pounds. yes, i have saggy skin, but i'd rather it be saggy than filled with fat... i went with lap band because i didnt want my insides rerouted and i didnt want the malabsorb issues. best of luck with your decision.

Karey, have a great time in FL... at least you'll be busy and not counting the days ... errr... hours like someone ... not me though, nope ... :tt2: -
hi, a panniculectomy (panni) is basically removal of excess skin/fat from belly button on down. i do not believe it involves the 'skin stretching' like a tuck. it does not include any muscle tightening, more than likely no new belly button or anything above the belly button. not sure about cost. its not a great idea to get preg after a tuck due to the muscle tightening, when you get PG, you stretch your tummy muscles and, in 'normal' cases, basically nullifies the tuck. in my case, they are getting rid of lots of skin and fat, so i would not be doing any major damage (except possibly to muscles) if i were to get PG. not sure about insurance - maybe b/c panni is not considered cosmetic for some reason? best of luck to you!
