Nurseamy's tummy tuck/Lipo/Mastopexy
losingjusme replied to nurseamy's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
that's one thing im really worried about ... my 4yr old DD is VERY chatty ... when i had my lap band placed, she saw the incisions and i told her they were my ouches, but i was OK... everyone we saw, Mama has ouches.. -
Tammy, congrats and welcome to bandland!! i heard that walking around helps the gas as well. when you are up to it, you may want to try that.

Hi Lois, We did just clean up the thread, but the objective was to leave the pictures and delete the comments. If any pics were deleted, it was unintentional. Congrats on being banded.

im hoping since i will not be having drains and no hunching over (Dr. P wants me up 95% straight day 1) that it will be a tad easier ... **fingers crossed** i like the pain is temporary thing ... -
thanks ... we have several people having plastics in Feb/March ... threads are all in the plastics forum.

losingjusme goes for plastics
losingjusme replied to losingjusme's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
yup ... i've heard that semi comment before... but that's ok ... i'll heal fine and then go up to see DH's parents and really freak them out !! LMAO. they know i've lost some weight, but no clue how (nor will they ever know), nor do they know about the plastics ... so next time his family sees me, i'll be a 'normal' maybe in their eyes... 'normal' for them i think is 5'2" 100 pounds and Chinese... so not really normal to them... :smile2: -
wayyyyyyyyyyy too chicken to try on a suit. Target does have some cute suits coming out though...

I don't understand...
losingjusme replied to Maya314's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
everyone is different in their weight loss. some are starting off at lower weights and lose slower than those of us (me included) that started up very high. not a good thing to assume that slow lose = bad behavior. although in some cases (me recently) it is. i find when im not eating well and dont get up to move, my loss slows. also, some people dont want to get another fill for fear of being too tight... i think i'd rather be a tad too loose than too tight.. realistic goal for you, my advice - aim low, work your tail off in the gym and maybe be pleasantly surprised... i should mention - in the past 6 months, i've lost a total of maybe 25 pounds, but i've lost 7 inches off my waist alone. it all depends on what numbers you want to focus on. best of luck to you. -
Jack, you are the best!

Harley, my PS developed a technique called Progressive Tension Sutures. he basically sews you down the inside of the tummy instead of stretching the tummy and having one suture line at the hip bones. yes, i'll have that scar, but having the progressive sutures it helps eliminate the Fluid build up.. i hope im explaining this right. his website is North Dallas Plastic Surgery: Cosmetic Surgery in Dallas and Plano, TX and it shows how its done there. im hoping the fact that i will not have drains will make it a tad easier... i get VERY annoyed at things like that and i think i'd end up pulling them out myself that's one reason i initially said no pain pump, but i came to my senses when Dr. P strongly suggested i get it... so if my surgeon is saying its going to hurt, its going to HURT... -
i can start S L O W L Y on the tmill after 2-3 weeks out. maybe 1.5-2.0 MPH (ha - that's where i started when i first started working out, and that was pushing it... now it's S L O W).. i know i wont be able to push myself for a few months, but i have that Disney Minnie Marathon (9 miles) the first weekend or so in May, so i have motivation.

Nurseamy's tummy tuck/Lipo/Mastopexy
losingjusme replied to nurseamy's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
yikes, i can imagine how difficult it is not being able to use your tummy OR your arms... i agree - take all the meds you can while the kiddos are being taken care of -
If I loose too much wt before surg, will they cancel?
losingjusme replied to Bandme08's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
im going to agree with everyone here... i was weighed when they first saw me then the day of my surgery. its a good thing to lose some weight before surgery and you really should if you are on a pre-op diet. for a lot of people with the band it's not the losing part, it's the keeping off part. best of luck to you! -

karey, we usually go to dinner and we then look at our china pictures. sometimes she wears her silk dresses, sometimes (ok, most times) she just doesnt want to and we dont force the issue. we try to keep it low key and it just be about her. im worried that this year it wont really be about her and that makes me sad ... im trying to stay positive and not think im gunna croak on the table (see, there i go again...) ok ... starting NOW, positive healing thoughts. we're gunna be fine. we're going to heal well and yes, look smokin hot!!! -

nina is doing OK. she's having internet connection issues from the hotel in France. she is really sore from the lipo (says the lipo is worse than the tuck). clothes are loose, but thighs look the same due to swelling. just thought i'd let you guys know she's ok ... -
Gurgling noises??
losingjusme replied to MrsCooper's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
im assuming you are on liquids only, so just sip throughout the day. make sure you get plenty of Protein in. i remember when i was banded (back in the day - LOL) i didnt feel hungry at all at first. it took a couple of weeks until i truly was hungry, but everyone is different. pains can be from sutures, hunger, gas, you name it. -
lulu, i know how you feel.. i dont wanna give up my trainer, but its pointless since i wont be able to do much after my tuck (6 months or more ... - no idea what im going to do!!)
