29Feb - losingjusme's plastics day
losingjusme replied to losingjusme's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
NO DRAINS FOR ME!!!! that's one main reason i went with my surgeon. he uses progressive tension sutures (see his website North Dallas Plastic Surgery: Cosmetic Surgery in Dallas and Plano, TX for details) and another great part of the progressive tensions, no bending/leaning over. i was 98% upright the day of surgery. love love love love my doctor!!! i know i posted somewhere else tonight that im a very ummm, annoyed-type, person.... meaning it doesnt take much to tick me off and i think i would have hung myself from the drains after a few hours. even the pain pump was a tad too much... -

Neal, sorry you need a revision so soon, did doc mention recovery time? Karey, i'll see if DH can take some illustration pics to help describe what im talking about. it gets better... really  Marypetunia, yay .. i'll be thinking of you tomorrow. youre the last of the bunch! what time are you going in? i way overdid it today. very sore, extremely swollen, so much that the jeans that fit this morning with a little room in the waist were TIGHT when i got home.. and they are stretchy. -

losingjusme replied to losingjusme's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
i HOPE they fall off soon, they were huge in the waist before surgery, but 'fit' in the hip area cause of my tummy.. yeah huge in thighs too.. I love losing weight and inches!!!!!! karey, it will get better, remember you had more done than I did and I thank everyone who will listen that I didnt get the girls done at the same time... I can't imagine trying to get up with bad arms and bad abs!! youch, but I'm a real wimp.. take it easy, dont push yourself (like I did today- youch!!) we've got 1 more to go, then we're ALL DONE, can you guys believe it!!?? -

Do you buy any clothes while your weight is transitioning down?
losingjusme replied to citygirl4616's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
oh dear... yeah, i bought waayyyyyyyy to much. WAY too much.. if you have a consignment shop near you, they are usually good. i went to the Avenue primarily. signed up for their email lists and they used to do a TON of coupons x% off things even on sale... saved tons that way. good luck and congrats on your loss!! -
Gained 3 lbs in 1 night...2 days since surgery. Help!
losingjusme replied to LiseSeattle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
lise, dont worry about it. i know thats easier said than done, but really. your body has gone through trauma (surgery) and doesnt know what is going on. it is more than likely retaining the Water you are consuming. just KEEP DRINKING. also ... this phase is not for weight loss, its for healing. take care of your body, concentrate on getting all your liquids in and maybe dont even step on the scale for several days, it can really discourage you if its going in the wrong way. take time to heal, weight loss will come once you are properly restricted. -
starting BMI over 50? come on in!
losingjusme replied to maziemommy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums

Question for those with small children
losingjusme replied to bluekygirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
it may be less ... my memory is kinda 'fuzzy' right now ... maybe 10 days??? thank you. -
i personally couldnt stomach the cauliflower for potatoes .. no way.

if you are having knee problems, my suggestion would be S L O W it down or give it 10-15 pounds and start back up. i hated hearing the slow it down too, but you really dont want to injure yourself.

How long after your 1st fill did you get your 2nd?
losingjusme replied to 010308's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
yeah, i had to wait 4 weeks too. not to burst your bubble, but it sometimes takes a few fills to get your sweet spot... i know its frustrating, but you can do it!! -
you are so creative! love it!!

Question for those with small children
losingjusme replied to bluekygirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my DD was about 3 when i was banded (small - 25ish pounds) and i dont think i could pick her up for a couple weeks. you can still hold her, just not standing up... place her in your lap, or on the couch with you, across your chest (just watch her kicking legs - youch!!). i cant think of any other real restriction having to do with my DD. you'll do great. this was the best decision i've made for ME .... -
thanks Rosey... nope, not in KS.

losingjusme replied to losingjusme's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
:blushing: thanks guys ... i posted my pics from tonight on make me heal (link below) and on my blog they may be a tad offensive and contain blacked out nudity . REALLY swollen tonight. i think it was the folding and the late nap on my side. i have a follow up appt with Dr. P tomorrow. not wanting them to remove these stitches ... why cant they just all dissolve?? Misch, didnt drink much coffee before, occasionally, but not enough to have the caffeine issues. i think im quasi dehydrated, working on bulking up the liquids. ok ... i guess its almost time to put that stupid binder on ... grrrrr. -

karey, try kneeling on one knee into bed. its tough to describe how to do. i imagine it would be more difficult for you since you had the girls worked on as well. i stopped pain meds Sunday nite, now i just take tylenol PM.. that knocks me out better than the lorotab did.. and i dont taste it. bleck. the days are starting to run together now, so im really glad i posted here and my blog.. yesterday i think was a great turning point for me. today sucked due to my headache, but good movement wise. drink drink drink... i think not having enuff liquids may have caused my headaches.. good luck, take your meds on time and let DH pamper you!!
