i LOVED my PS. Dr. Harlan Pollock in Dallas Texas. he developed a procedure using progressive tension sutures which require NO DRAINS for a TT. highly recommend him. good luck on your journey.

29Feb - losingjusme's plastics day
losingjusme replied to losingjusme's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
with a panniculectomy, they literally chop off everything either at the belly button or right below. so if you are 'thick' above the belly button you will still have that and it will create a wedge ... if you do a google search on panniculectomy, it will show a picture of a very bad one (and they considered it good...) i know i posted the URL to the pic, maybe in my other plastics thread ??? -

the only thing i worried about with a panni is the 'wedge' that may be created ... that scared me ... -

PS-My sister doesn't approve. I need support! Please help.
losingjusme replied to juliegeraci's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
julie, you dont need your sister's 'approval' for this. sorry she's having a tough time, but that's her issue that she needs to deal with ... dont let it get you down. -
bandster hell is no fun ... sorry you gals are having a tough time... just stick with what your surgeon gave you ... up your Protein (shakes if on liquids) this will pass. let those stitches seal your band into place. anchor that band!! you can do it!

losingjusme replied to losingjusme's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
steph, he didnt mention the revision, but i know i will need one if i want it to look 'perfect' ... which at this moment is no big deal, but when i call goal may be... i shouldnt have an apron, but it will be 'skin-ny' ... as in loose skin... angie - your belly button doesnt look bad at all .. you couldnt even see mine!! -
TXBecky, not at all... i thought it was really cool! Barbara (probably who answered) is great! she is the billing/admin guru... Kim is the nurse and she's the best! sooooo very patient with my million questions. do you have the consult with Harlan (father) or Todd ?

stitch removal wasnt as bad as i thought it would be. my bb is still a bit numb so that was a good thing. they took a few from the sides, but most should just dissolve. i see him again in 2 weeks. said it looks good and swelling is less than last week, i guess that's a good thing ... i asked about walking on the treadmill and i got ... THE LOOK .... he really doesnt want me on the treadmill yet, but i bargained with him, i will go no more than 1.5-2.0 MPH and the slightest twinge of anything i will get off of it... every visit i like Dr. P more and more. the first visit (initial consult) i thought he was a pompous ass ... but liked him for some bizarre reason... today i truly enjoyed his company. **shrug** i dunno what it is... i still think he is very confident in his work, but that's what you want in a plastics guy... sooooooo, i go on the treadmill Saturday morning. i cant believe it will be 2 weeks tomorrow! things have changed so much already... so happy to have the gut gone. i know i have a LONG road still (about 80 pounds after i just lowered my goal) but i will make it!! -
I hate it when people post just to post.....

Steph, i am so excited for you ... you're going to have great results!!! -
i am so incredibly excited to see so many of you going for plastics... it truly has been life changing for me (yes, already)... even though i am SWOLLEN to no end (waist is still at least 4-6 inches larger than before surgery), i fit in a size 16 jeans ... when was the last time that happened??? before high school.. little tip i know i've posted before but cannot stress enough - get those quads / thighs in shape ... do so many squats you think you're going to hurl... that was my saving grace getting up and down (specially the bathroom!!) good luck, gals!!!

TexasBecky are you the one who called Dr P today and used me as a referral? someone did.. I dont get anything for it, but had a post op today (stitches ... fun) and they mentioned it. dr P really is great!! loved the no drains and standing straiht up!!! he even told me I can take a BATH!! omg a bath!! kind of strict on limiting the exercise (had to beg to get on treadmill) but I will be using him for other procedures when I hit goal.. let me know what you think of him...

can you have one bite and put it down? sounds like its the deprivation that's hurting you... good luck ...
-
best of luck to you tomorrow! :smile2: i was pretty much up and running (errr, walking) on Wednesday - my surgery was on a Monday. you'll do great, just remember to sip sip sip and get your Water and Protein in.
-
i wish!! i have only seen my surgeon once after my post op appt and that's cause i was having port pain/issues... his philosophy is dont need to see you unless there are problems.
-
thats great ... make sure you post a new thread in the plastics thread too!! best of luck to you! :grouphug:
-
congrats and welcome!! :grouphug:

ok, im not an Aug 07 bandster, but wanted to chime in ... as soon as you think you are ready, DO IT.... i am still far from goal (about 80 pounds now that i've lowered my goal) but not having this gut has already made my life easier ... i cant even imagine how great it is going to be once i start running again. good luck!

How long after a fill did you feel restriction?
losingjusme replied to Tater's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
hi, it may take you a few fills to feel true restriction, but every fill you get, you'll get closer...
