New & WANT TO KNOW THE GOOD & BAD
losingjusme replied to Dori50's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
hi Dori, welcome to LBT. the good, the band is a great tool to help you lose the weight ... the 'bad', the band is just that a tool... you still have to do the work... watch what you eat, exercise, etc .. the good FAR outweighs the bad. its the best thing i've done for myself (ok, 2nd best now that i've had plastic surgery)... read here, there's tons of info here. best of luck to you! -
food tasted like dog food ... ick.

i started my period literally after i took the pregnancy test right before surgery... and ummmm ... it was quite a heavy flow and bled thru the protection... so much so that when i got up to do the first walk, it was dripping ... talk about EWWW, they freaked out, thinking i was bleeding from my incision... embarrassing !!!!! you'll be fine.

first of all - 33.5 pounds is an amazing accomplishment ... second - look at all that time you are putting in at the gym. you are getting healthy and fit. and dont forget - muscle weighs more than fat so although you may not be losing pounds, you may be losing inches. measure yourself monthly. from August to the day before my plastics (end of Feb) i lost maybe 15 pounds (and that is pushing it...) but i lost over 20 inches!! try not to get discouraged. see if you can get on the cancellation list for an earlier fill. it's not easy not being properly restricted. you're doing great!!

dab happy bandiversary, congrats on your amazing weight loss!!

you dont have to keep track forever ... it eventually 'clicks' in your head and you know what to eat, etc... it took me forever to finally let go of my program and im seriously having withdrawl not having it - even if i havent used it in over a month. there are several free websites out there: fitday.com sparkpeople.com mydailyplate.com i used one that was 9$ a month myfooddiary.com LOVED it. good luck

 :blushing:.. hardly ... there are many MANY others out there who seriously kick ass.... im going to take it VERY VERY slow... literally going to start out at .5 MPH and gradually go up .1 MPH until i am walking 'normally' ... i dont think i'll last long though (went to the mall tonight* and lasted maybe 15 minutes, but that was chasing after DD)... * what on God's green earth was i doing at the mall on a Friday night??? geesh - wayyyyy too old ... all the teens with droopy drawers... i did go back to Steve & Barry's and got a couple more pair of jeans though. thanks Georgia ... think im gunna join you in the LC challenge soon... doc said as long as i eat plenty of veggies (salads are good) and keep my protein up my diet isnt restricted... woooo hoooo!! -

well, the pain is not a walk in the park but it is SO worth it... if you do get the option for pain pump, get it ... -
well thats when you start taking care of business solo - even in front of him, that may get his attention... i did that in my last relationship before i was married... that seemed to get him in the mood..

PS-My sister doesn't approve. I need support! Please help.
losingjusme replied to juliegeraci's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
i agree ... i worked my rear off at the gym and it went down then just.stopped.moving... i lost a great deal from my "hips" area, but no such luck. the only real 'cure' was removal... although i now look like a tree trunk  im ecstatic with my results already. -
StephC's PS journey/I got approved!!
losingjusme replied to StephC's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
maybe call the receptionist back and ask if you can get a cancellation appointment. its gotta be frustrating, but you are lucky that insurance is covering it... (lucky lucky lucky!!!) glad your boss is ok with you taking off ... and it IS female surgery ... also, maybe see if they will schedule the actual surgery now ... ??? doubt if they would, but it wouldnt hurt to ask. everything happens for a reason ... this is happening for a reason.... patience sucks, but what are the alternatives?? ((hugs)) C -

the joys of plastics ... before and 13 days post op -
good luck frangipani!

even when i had optimal restriction and could not eat more than 1/2 a piece of grilled chicken i could still suck down the (insert bad food choice here)... i find chocolate and not so good choices just slide right thru the band. so yeah, i still say its a tool to help me lose...

February/March 08 plastics
losingjusme replied to losingjusme's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
seriously... i feel like a freaking tree trunk... a WIDE tree trunk... my waist still hasnt gone back to normal... if you want to call it a 'waist'... at least pre-PS i had a nice curvy waist ... now... straight up and down ... i know its swelling and will go down, but this is just so frustrating!!! i have all these cute clothes (even pre-PS clothes) that just dont fit well cause my waist is ... gone ... :cursing: Dr. P removed my stiches from my belly button yesterday. attached is a pic of my new bee-bo!!! its pretty cool looking - almond shaped. yes, it's red, i took the pic last night ... still rather numb so i didnt feel 90% of the stitch removal. -
OMG ... i have that same track suit outfit from the Avenue... looked about as good on me as it does her ...

What is a good Post Op shake?
losingjusme replied to MsHansy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i love Atkins Caramel Latte. if you get it really cold, it tastes like a Starbucks frapp. -
i chose lap band because i didnt want to have a Vitamin deficiency my entire life (or my insides rerouted). i have seen many lose weight quickly with bypass, but many put it back on. best of luck to you and your decision.
