If this is the sweet spot: Count me in!
texassparkles posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I kept thinking that I was chasing a mysterious goal: the sweet spot: I could either eat too much, or I was PBing everything. Last week I had a fill: I am at 6.6 in an 11 cc band. It is perfect! I am able to eat if I am conscientious about my bites and I am NOT hungry, I don't even think about it! We will soon see if this translates to weight loss, but I am in a very happy place right now!:blushing: -
Can I get a quick response please?
texassparkles replied to sdpressl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the exact same thing happen, I did need an unfill, I was so sore from everything coming back up that it wasnt worth it: plus, you could put yourself in a position of having a slip. -
Are you satisfied with "Average" weight loss???
texassparkles replied to bambam31's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am at 40% of my weight loss now: Heck no I am not satisfied with average! I am working myself out of a rut right now, but I fully intend to pull myself up and lose the rest of this: walked 2 miles tonight again: ate pretty good. I am going to achieve as close to 100% as I can. BTW: betsy you are a true inspiration to me: You go! -

Menstruation After Surgery
texassparkles replied to Manda87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i have been haing mine about every 2.5 weeks, I am very anemic now because of the blood loss, so my ob/gyn is going to do an ablation: she said that it is the weight loss that is making my periods heavier, but I can't stand it anymore! I have had this problem before: after my 2nd daughter, so the ablation is the best answer for me. -
I learend a lesson-what NOT to eat. TMI but it can happen folks!
texassparkles replied to gigi0504's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its weird: Mexican food is one thing that I know I can eat without problem: I can eat chips and salsa: I usually get 5 chips, put them on my plate and that is it for me: then I get a chicken burrito or chuychanga (at Chuys) and eat the chicken out of the middle: I can usually only eat about 1/4. No tortilla at all for me! tacos I can eat the meat and cheese out of them: I have even ordered a taco with just the meat and cheese: no tortilla: the small family restauraunts are always happy to help. We dont eat out much with 3 kids so I make it a treat for me too! Thats the best part about the band: I can live my life and have a life! -
No Fill Today
texassparkles replied to texassparkles's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is a latin dance workout class: tonight will be my first try, but my friends tell me it is like jazzercise pumped up. -
Went in, but we agreed no fill: I have lost 11 pounds since my last fill last month: plus I had to have a small unfill in between because I couldnt stop PBing and sliming! So I will wait 4 weeks and see how I do: Plus I get to start Zumba tonite: I had been on restriction b/c of my Blood pressure, but my primary care dr says I can start exercising again b/c my blood pressure is normal! I am terrified that I am going to make a fool of myself: but here' to exercise!

4th of July Challenge!
texassparkles replied to LeighaMason's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am afraid that I am not going to make this one: But I only need 4 more pounds: I have a fill on Wednesday, maybe that will help push me over the edge. I shouldnt complain about 1 lb a week though: That would be 52 pounds a year: more than I have lost in years! -
I went to see my ob/gyn yesterday: was a little nervous about her response to my surgery: she had been concerned about my weight, so I skipped my visit last year because I knew she would be ultra concerned! Anyway, she was so over the top about it! She has been my dr since I was 18, she delivered 2 of my 3 kids, and she kept telling me how proud she was of me: Big news: my blood pressure was NORMAL: 110/70: we had been headed toward meds and now I am good! I may not be perfect on this journey: I had a really bad day on Sunday: ate everything I could which is not that much, but still! I havent had bread since 3/05 and while I probably could: I am making the choice not to. I feel better: not so sluggish, not so thick: I am 38 pounds down and will hit my 40 by 40 goal. Look, if I can do it: you can too! I am the biggest procrastinator, food justifier, emotional eater on the planet: every day gets better with this too though: soon, food will be fuel instead of my friend! Sorry: I rambled, but I am so happy this morning!

dieing for some pasta
texassparkles replied to Whillow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For some reason, I do really well with whole wheat pasta: Only a little: I switched my whole family to whole wheat & they like it so much and it is healthier for them too: I usually make some grilled shrimp, and put like 4 pieces of whole wheat penne pasta on the side with a tomato/veggie sauce: I get my veggies, my protein and my pasta fix all in one! -
Microwaved Food: not working for me!
texassparkles posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Does anyone else have a problem with leftovers? I can have a meal that works great when it is freshly cooked, but then when I reheat it for another meal in the microwave, it gets stuck. Is it because the moisture is decreased after being microwaved? Is it all in my head? What gives? -
I have left the 90's, the 80's, the 70's and the 60's behind forever: 5 more pounds and I will have left the 50's! I can't wait! Thanks to everyone for your help and support!

4th of July Challenge!
texassparkles replied to LeighaMason's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
down 1lb when I weighed in this morning: we are doing VBS at our church this week & i am crazy busy: plus trying to stay out of the snack room: had a couple of people comment on how much smaller I Look: worth not eating the cookies! I am going to bump it up: still have 9lbs to go: but if I lose 6 more I will have hit my goal of 40lbs by my 40th B-Day! -
We just got back from our trip to Disneyworld: I had posted that I was scared that they would make me get another seat: well, that wasnt even an issue: the arm seats went down no problem, I didnt need an extension this time and I was even able to really tighten the belt. I also only got stuck once the whole trip! It was very enlightening to see the different choices that I make with the band: I would have eaten soooo badly if not for my new BFF! Thanks for all of your tips and encouragement!

Question about fills and being too tight
texassparkles posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay so i went in almost 2 weeks ago for a fill: thought I was too tight, but it got a little better, but now I PB everything: nothing that isnt liquid will go down without slime: I have tried chewing better, changing foods: nothing is working: so I called my Dr and I cant get in until late tomorrow: my question: can you really be too tight with a fill of 6cc in a 10cc band? Also, I am going to Disneyworld for a week day after tomorrow will the flight affect my fullness and will the unfill be like the fill: take a few days to recover? TIA! -

texassparkles replied to LeighaMason's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Only a pound this week: thanks in part to TOM, and I will be on vacation next week: will be weighing in late: heres to losing weight on vacation! -
I have to put this somewhere because it is really making me crazy! We are going on vacation in 9 days: I am so afraid that the airline is going to stop me and make me pay for an extra seat: I think I am being silly: when I have flown before it hasnt happened: I am 36 pounds down from when I flew the last time: but I guess that I am much more aware of my size these days. I am just worried about it ruining our family vacation. Am I being silly?

My secret fear
texassparkles replied to texassparkles's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks everyone: I think I am nervous because it is Southwest that we are flying: but I have a 2 yr old, a 5 year old and a 7 year old flying with me & my husband: I guess any overflow will be with them! I am so happy that this journey will mean that I don't ever have to let my size stand in my way of an adventure: with 3 girls, that is a big part of why! You guys rock! Debbie -
