Hello Fellow Bandsters,
After making a career change, I am now in a position to brown bag my lunch. I was wondering if anyone has an band friendly lunch ideas. Thanks.
I was banded almost two years ago. Ever since then I have been shedding hair more or less every other month. My hair grows back, but it's almost always thinner at top. I've been taking biotin, I get enough protien, etc. Does anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions as to what can be done?
I just wanted to see how my fellow May 2010 Bandsters are doing.
I had an extremely difficult year (not related to the band) but I'm better now. The band was definitely one of the few things that kept me from going bananas. I'm down about 70lbs. I'm still working on eating healthy and working out. I'm really excited about my life.
I hope everyone that has had the band feels the same. It really improved my life.
Hi! Congratulations! I hope all is well with your gallblader surgery. Dr. Cavazos performed my surgery. I haven't really been to a group but I'm interested in joining one in the Downtown/Near Northwest side of town.
Hi y'all,
I got my surgery on May 5th and I'm currently on my second fill. While I eat a lot less than I did pre-surgery, I feel like my food intake hasn't gone down since I was allowed to start eating solid food again. I do stay full a lot longer. I eat Breakfast and lunch and at dinner I'm usually too full to have a meal, so I'll just have some fruit.
I know that I'm still trying to find that "sweet spot" as far as fills are concerned but what I find so odd is that my food intake has not decreased even slightly with 2 fills.
Has this happened to anyone else?
No, I'm pretty good about only eating when I'm hungry. Like I said, I just feel like my restriction isn't at the right spot yet. Whatever it is, it isn't preventing me from losing weight, which I guess is what matters. I guess I can't complain.
I can do one protein shake a day but not two, but if I must I must. I just want to get an idea of what some of y'all are doing to get all the protein you need in each day. Thanks
I've been well. I got a fill yesterday. I had remained the same since my one week post-op visit, so I definitely needed a fill. Now I'll see how it goes.
Thanks for the advice. I really need to work on a plan for eating healthy. Maybe I will start with Weight Watchers. If it's not too much to ask...can you give me an example of what you eat in a day?
Congratulations! That's amazing! My main question is...did you follow a diet routine after the band? I'm thinking I need to do one because I need to learn how to eat properly.
Right now my work schedule makes it nearly impossible to pack a lunch as I'm out of the office for the most part and refrigeration is not an option. I think Wendy's will have to be my go-to lunch during the soft food stage. I had the chili and just thought, "Where has this been all my life?" haha
Last night I met up with friends for Thai. I had Kee Mao which is really soft noodles and veggies with soft tofu. It was quite delicious.
I feel my restriction diminishing as well. I'm not scheduled for my next dr's visit until June 13th.
Are any of you thinking about doing an additional diet regiment as well? I've been reading on here that some people have done Weight Watchers and have had excellent results. I'm interested in doing one in order to learn better nutrition. I'll have to ask my doc though.
I just had to post something about a great "soft food" I had today. Everyone else may know about this, but I'll tell y'all just in case you don't. I went to Wendy's and had their Chili and a baked potato. It's was pretty amazing. I highly recommend it.
My NSVs:
-clothes fit a lot looser
-my body doesn't ache when I get out of bed in the morning
-I feel more confident already
I need to work on eating slower!
I love this thread too!
