So....I'm pretty much healed surgery wise. 8 lbs total loss thus far (after surgery 3/23rd) ....I am hoping it will come off more quickly after first fill April 20th? I can at this point eat pretty much anything I want...tho I do fill easily...most everything digests without complication or feeling "stuck".

Thanks "Living My Dream".......I've only lost 10 pounds since surgery March 23rd But, I'll have my first fill on the 20th of April and hoping it helps curb my "food desires".

Living My Dream,
I was so encouraged reading your blog and then discovering your age! I'm 56 5' 3" and at banding weighed 208. I'm small boned and haven't seen a size 10 in well over 25 years. If I could get to a 14 I would be elated!! I am so happy for you and could feel all you feel in your new body and you explained...... Happy new life!!

Howdy...to anyone who might happen by! I'm attempting to get a 'friends list' here .... Some that I can communicate with and compare notes and experiences...successes and heaven forbid...setbacks. I was banded March 23rd weighed 208 at surgery date. I dream of being 145 someday, but I know that is much to dream for. I'm 56 and have bad knees, hip and back so walking is my exercise of choice. Haven't had my first fill yet, that comes in April. I've only had a few passing urges to eat....but sticking strictly to only the liquids suggested. Pains are now subsiding and sleep is easier. Don't know for sure what I weigh at this point due to swelling etc...and I do need a new bathroom scale. So, perhaps I'll be pleasantly surprised when I finally do weigh myself... an odd new wonderful way of living is just beginning.

K....day 2....still holding my belly when I walk. Took a shower and almost fainted....and having lots of hopefully just gas pains in lower left abdomen. Sticking strictly to the liquids as directed...with occasional urges for food....more of a 'craving' than a 'hunger'. Tough to move around to get comfortable in bed...and when lying down the shoulder pain is more intense. Husband has gone to refill liquid pain meds. All pretty normal gang? Wish I could get to the 'recovered' stage a wee bit faster!

So...surgery was at 7:00 a.m. the 23rd of March. All went well (I am told) seemed I closed my eyes and snap....over! Dr. M repaired a small hernia while banding me. They said all else looked great. Was home same day before noon and slept most of the day. Enjoyed sips of ice water, a really tasty chocolate low fat protein shake, and a lemon yogurt...AND two games of Scrabble with Hubby!
Today, I am feeling a little more pain. Tossed and turned a lot during the night, mostly just not sleepy after sleeping most of the day after surgery. But, I have taken more pain meds and feeling the shoulder pain I was told I might, little gasy, not bad. All n all thus far all goes well. I am enjoying my coffee this morning and have taken my adult gummy bear vitamin! I am anxious for the next several months and trying to keep a 'one day at a time' attitude. Food all smells good when about me, but satisfied with my new foods and having just a twinge of craving for my most adored food POTATOES
