  1. Happy 60th Birthday Simplysimple!

  2. Happy 59th Birthday Simplysimple!

  3. So....I'm pretty much healed surgery wise. 8 lbs total loss thus far (after surgery 3/23rd) ....I am hoping it will come off more quickly after first fill April 20th? I can at this point eat pretty much anything I want...tho I do fill easily...most everything digests without complication or feeling "stuck".

  4. Thanks "Living My Dream".......I've only lost 10 pounds since surgery March 23rd :( But, I'll have my first fill on the 20th of April and hoping it helps curb my "food desires". :)

  5. Hi Simplysimple

I would join your friend list and compare notes and share info with you. I have been banded since Jan 08.

    Band Fills

Perhaps....the Lord has given you "Mountains" instead of "Hills"...because he already knows that you WILL succeed...but, he also wants you to SEE at the paths end just how very very strong you truly are. In doing so, you'll one day read a 'blog' such as yours and 'connect' and be the tool for God's words to help another with the path over their "Mountain". You will succeed, in all areas of your life in God's time....not yours....and you WILL look back at this time and realize how very important it all was in just the way it all happened to be the YOU you will find when all the "battles" have become nothing more than little 'efforts' you can live with! You are NEVER alone!
  7. How are you these days? All still going well?

  8. Living My Dream,

I was so encouraged reading your blog and then discovering your age! I'm 56 5' 3" and at banding weighed 208. I'm small boned and haven't seen a size 10 in well over 25 years. If I could get to a 14 I would be elated!! I am so happy for you and could feel all you feel in your new body and you explained...... Happy new life!! :)

  9. Thanks for the well wishes...... :)

  10. Howdy...to anyone who might happen by! I'm attempting to get a 'friends list' here .... Some that I can communicate with and compare notes and experiences...successes and heaven forbid...setbacks. I was banded March 23rd weighed 208 at surgery date. I dream of being 145 someday, but I know that is much to dream for. I'm 56 and have bad knees, hip and back so walking is my exercise of choice. Haven't had my first fill yet, that comes in April. I've only had a few passing urges to eat....but sticking strictly to only the liquids suggested. Pains are now subsiding and sleep is easier. Don't know for sure what I weigh at this point due to swelling etc...and I do need a new bathroom scale. So, perhaps I'll be pleasantly surprised when I finally do weigh myself...:) an odd new wonderful way of living is just beginning. :)

    day 3 blues

I think I'm just really uncomfortable with having to move slow and deliberate and the added discomfort of the bloat, gas and pressure on my diaphragm causing pain in my shoulders. I know this will pass (pardon the pun) and by next week I should be doing very well. Anxious!! I am too getting burned out fast on the protein shakes and yogurt....I think I'm a bit hungry!
  12. K....day 2....still holding my belly when I walk. Took a shower and almost fainted....and having lots of hopefully just gas pains in lower left abdomen. Sticking strictly to the liquids as directed...with occasional urges for food....more of a 'craving' than a 'hunger'. Tough to move around to get comfortable in bed...and when lying down the shoulder pain is more intense. Husband has gone to refill liquid pain meds. All pretty normal gang? Wish I could get to the 'recovered' stage a wee bit faster! :)

    day 3 blues

day two for me....pain meds almost gone...haven't slept well, haven't yet showered and I too am afraid to do much. Just trying to turn in bed is painful enough to make me nervous about 'undoing' something inside. I had a head cold going into surgery, so I'm still fighting that trying to cough hard though it hurts in attempt to keep my lungs clear. I am really looking forward to having this all at least two weeks behind me, I really loath feeling so incapable and 'hospitalily'

    Day after surgery

I'm still learning how to utilize this site...apparently I blogged to the 'visitor' spot. So, my first day with the Band is blogged there.
