Grrrr...I'm supposed to get a fill on Tues, but I have jury duty
dancing replied to sleepyjean's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I feel your frustration and I hope you get your fill shortly. I have also needed the extra help. Weight loss is such hard work. Its the hardest thing I have ever had to do. Its daily. One wrong move cost my hips a back misery. 8*$&*( me off. Anyway. I understand, BUT I wish you lots of patience. YOU CAN DO IT!!!! Jules -
Kat817. great response. I am with you. Ps. Absolutely love the phrase at the end of your comment about the eraser. I needed that. Have a great weekend. Jules

I would recommend. Dr Sharker, Loyola University. She is very good. Also her partener is Dr Shiani and others have said he is good.

Hello October Bandsters. I hope all is going good. I have not been on for a month very busy with Holiday. Lots of changes happening with my health since I joined the health club. I have a lot more energy than I have ever had, but I also get hungry after the workout which is not good either. I need to have more water intake. I only drink about 30 oz of water. I have always struggled with water. I have not had had pop since September. But I drink plenty of milk. Any suggestions to make a person like water? Thanks.... Ps. Wish you all the success in the world. Jules

Hello October bandsters!!! Well i had my first fill on 11/13/06 5cc. feel great. I have been working out everyday faithfully. I started at 278 now 254. I am so excited about life in general and eager to chat with anyone. I love this band. It is a great tool. Last year I ate plate full after plate full. Now I just eat my proteins, veggies and drink 60 oz water and life is good. I have to remember to take my vitamins as that is a struggle but overcome that as well. I have to. I am the only person that can keep my from my goal. Take care and be safe. Jules

Hello Chicago Bandsters! Hope all did well on Thanksgiving. What a huge change for me. I was the one last year that filled my plate time and time. Wow have I changed. It is so strange that this world is so hung up on always getting together to eat. Lets get together and shop!!!! HAHA. Take care and hope all is great. Jules.

Ok I am a little scared after reading some information on another web site. I was banded 10/4/06. lost about 12# now feel great, I am now on a exercise program and drink about 60 oz of water. Here's my question, After 2 weeks i have tried regular foods and they all seem to go good, Have never gotten il except for a 1/2 piece of pizza :help: which was in my gut for a day, but i walked and drank lots of water and it passed. Should I not be eating soft meat and cotage cheese? I chew my food and eat 1/2 sandwich but I keep reading I should not eat any bread. I guess I wonder if we would feel are band slip or is there a test on 1st fill that the Dr can say all looks good?????? Please let me know what you think. THANKS... Jules

LadyK, Hope your doing great and feeling sexy! I feel so good and so glad I made this decision. I get my first fill 11/13 and cant wait. My stomach sure feels like it wants more food so I have to be careful as I eat something and then push it away. Wow what a change. Take care all, Jules

I can relate, a 1/2 piece of pizza about killed me 3 weeks after my surgery which was probably to early, But wow. had to take day off work very ill. All foods I find are a new experience and dont I will not go out to eat with friend and eat something new its what i have tried before. lot of trial and error, Good luck to all as we all need each other. Jules

:clap2: Wow do I feel great. It's been 3 weeks and I am feeling like a brand new person. I have sooooooooo much energy. I love it. My highest weight was 287 last year. Band Oct 4th and was 272 now 261 and I weigh in 2 days. I only weigh once a week but I feel great. My whole attitude has changed. I walk or do aerobics 45 min a day, drink 40 or more oz water and take my vitamins, WOW do I love this band. I know that I am on a high now and there will be rough roads ahead like my 1/2 piece pizza that made me call in sick to work as I was so ill. I want to thank everyone for there support and if anyone wants to share their stories will me I am eager to hear. Jules:)

Hi LadyK, Thanks for your encouragement. I really appreciate it. I am on solids now and doing well. No pizza for me as I ate 1 1/2 piece and was sick for a day. I know everyone is different but wow.... Hope all going good for you. I am to have my first fill 11/13/06. Does it hurt when they stick the needle in? I know nothing about it yet I need to call Dr as I am just curious. My weight now is 261 so I am seeing results and working out and drinking Water. Love the band! Jules

Food ?? 10 days post op
dancing replied to Ladyred's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome Ladyred, I am in the same boat. Banded 10/4/06 Dr is 3hours away and I am really not sure. I drink about 50 oz water and 3 meals a day, but i lost 6# first week and 4 this week but I just feel like I could eat and drink more. I eat very small amounts of food but last night I ate 1 small square piece pizza and I called in sick at work. It literly was stuck, All night I was in pain till about noon today, I do have a call into the Dr as I need some direction. I feel like I am on an island. Jules -
Wow I am already 2 weeks banded. Been thru a lot of "just figuring it out as you go". I noticed so many of us are the same yet different. Very interesting. I want to thank all of you for your encouragement and advice. Honestly, it is very helpful as I am about 3 hours from my Dr office on a farm and no one here has ever heard of band. So THANKS... I really wish all of you a safe day and recovery. We Octobers will look and feel fabulous!!!! I BELIEVE , Jules

Well I find myself very confused . Trying to get some support by talking with people and I think I must be doing something wrong. I hardly get any responses and I find it rather sad. I know I must be doing something wrong, If anyone has any helpful suggestions or were to go to talk in this web site. I would appreciate it, Have lots of questions, Jules

Congratulations on your surgery date!! Thats the HUGE acomplishment. I just had my band surgery 10/4/06. Feeling great. Lost 12# in past 2 weeks, It will slow down now. But as lon as it goes down I will smile. I am here for you. We can get healthy together, I am about 264 right now so I have a ways to go as I am short! Jules
