    tightness question

Thanks for the response. I am exercising - i do laps in the pool and tread Water (each for 20-30 min). I'm in New Orleans and its way to hot to exercise outside without the pool. I'm going to try to drink more water at night. I usually get my 8 glasses in by 8pm, but I'll try to pace it out. Do you think I need another fill? I was thinking I might if I can get a mini bag of popcorn down with no problem. Thanks again, Kristina

Hey.. I'm in the NOLA area. Banded on 4/22 by Dr. Belott. Welcome to your new life!!
  4. What crackers are you using? How many do you get? Right now I can have 5 multigrains crackers.

    Blood Pressure

Please call and check with your doc. Here's what happen with me - starting weight 252.5...banded 4/22/10.....two months later and 25 lbs lost...my doc took me off one of my bp meds....i'm still on the Water pill. I was very happy and very very surprise how quick I got off my "main" meds. It really sounds like you need a BP apt with your doc. Good luck:thumbup:
  6. Thanks Betsy - its funny you were the one with a reply b/c I admire your weight loss and checked out your food routine to compare to mine. I looked at mine to make sure that I wasn't being honest with my work. ( I didn't want to say "I just don't know why the weight is coming off"). So, I make sure I log everything I eat (i use sparkpeople.com) and keep up with my exercises. I found I need to do better with my water.... so I'm back to my 64 oz again. I find its really hard to get my water in with my drinking/eating restriction (no drinking 15 min before and 2 hrs after eating). In addition to the water, I truly think/hope that the sinus surgery (very needed and very happy I did it - I can breathe now) stalled me out. Thanks for putting my average in black n white so to speak. Seeing the numbers like that put a proud smile on my face. Most people think lapband is a easy way to weight loss. I don't know about you , but I feel I'm working very hard with my tool and my loss is due to my work not an easy fix. So I was proud and it feels good to have validation from others!! You ROCK!! Thanks, Kristina

    Bragging Rights Time

Bragging rights are well deserved!!!! CONGRATS!!!
  8. WOW- I'm realizing how strict my doc's rules are -----no drinking 15 min before eating and 2 hrs after. He also told me that if I need to "wet" my mouth while eating......get a glass of ice and whatever melts WHILE eating is what I can use.
  9. 3 months post op today - 34.7 lbs down - and yes I'm being hard on myself but I've only loss 3 lbs in the last month--really wanted more. Hope everyone is doing well!!

  10. Thanks!! Up to three weeks ago I was using sparkpeople.com. I'm going to back to it instead of hand writing journaling. Great tip:thumbup:
  11. I too had my 2nd fill seek up on me. I'm ten weeks post-op and down 30 lbs. I'm really not hungry and always busy - so I have to remind myself to eat (stomach noises or a headache usually does that for me). I think I'm eating a norml amount of food but the scale did not move at all this week. In fact, I'm up 2.5 lbs:scared2:. I don't understand what happend and to be truthful I'm actually have Water coming to my eyes as I type that---so very very dissappointed. My meals are pretty much the same...breakfast = greek yogurt or akins bar; lunch = sandwich (with low carb bread, meat, 1.5 t of mayo, lettuce); dinner = meat (chicken, fish, shrimp, lean pork), salad (with chesse and dressing); snack = usually 1=2oz. of nuts. My family - who is extrememly proud and supportive - actually said that I might not be eating enough to lose. Is that possible? You would think with this much weight on me(i'm currently 222) that I would be dropping a good bit every week. I'm so so very upset. Sorry for the vent; I was orginally replying to let you know that you weren't alone with the fill feeling. Wow- guess I need to let that out...thanks Kristina
  12. I'm so happy to be out of bandster hell:thumbup:. Wanted to share the good news- had my 2nd fill last week and I'm very proud of my choices (food and getting banded). I'm down about 32lbs and can really see the difference in me. I wanted to share to let others know that bandster hell will pass and keep up your hard work!! Thanks for this great outlet and support, Kristina:wub:
  13. Hope your fill is treating you well!! Keep up the work, It does get easier....well you know everything gets easier when the scale starts going down :)

  14. Hi all.....just got back from the beach. Great news ....my old bathing suit doesn't fit anymore. I posted a comparison photo. What a great feeling. More to come.... Going to get my 2nd fill tomorrow. PS - the black hair was a color...I'm a natural dirty blonde. Starting to feel like me again :)

  16. That's great! It's always nice to say goodbye to those pounds forever. My good news is that I went to my PCP for a sinus infection yeserday and was taken off my blood pressure meds. This was one of my big goals and reasons to do the surgery. I just counldn't believe it happend so quick. Now I'm just hoping the lbs start flying off. Going to the beach for a week so I'll check in later.

    4th of July Challenge!

I got my ticket out of Bandster Hell (got my 1st fill on Monday). After gaining 1.5 when I got on the scale before the fill, I've loss 4.6 since Monday afternoon:thumbup:. I'm hoping the restriction stays as long as possible. Looks like my 20lb goal is going to happen. Thanks for all the support. Kristina
  19. Fill went very well. I was still hungry that night but I was on clear liquids (didn't plan on that). I'm in love with the band right now and I hope that this fill last a long time. Scale is on the move and I'm having godd restriction. I hoep you're doing as well. I can't wait to see eveyone's progress at the end of June. We should really see it by then. Have a great day.

    4th of July Challenge!

Well, I'm so glad you kicked Mr. Plateau's a$$, b/c he kicked mine. I'm in Banster hell and gained .9lbs. But the good news is my 1st fill is Mon the 24th so.............. Mr. Plateau better watch his back:tt2:. Kristina
  23. I agree not to beat yourself up about it. I was saying the other day I know in my head that my body would hold onto and want food after all of the liquids and then barely any food....but...... I thought I was going to do better. I keep telling myself that just make it to restriction without going crazy. I don't want to gain of the weight I lost....I'm afraid. Just know that there's someone out in the world that feels exactly like you right now. Have a great day!!

  24. It seems we're in the very same (and hungry) boat. I also gain 1lb this weekend and will be exercising this afternoon. Glad to be in such good company :)
