Let me start by saying, I am happy for the people that this procedure worked on.  I on the other hand was most likely to low in BMI for it to be effective but the doctors were happy to take my money anyway.  I have struggled with my weight all my life, always 20-40 pounds than what I should be.  Had a skinny sister that called me fat while growing up so my image of course was shattered, waa waa!  I paid 8-10 thousand for my procedure but the worst experience is after the first fill they tell you to eat right!  HELLO! If I could concentrate on eating correctly I wouldn't had it done!  DAH something thin people don't understand.  I had my surgery at a beautiful modern hospital in Monterrey Mexico and everything went very well.  The hospital was impeccable and so was the staff which didn't speak English at all, however the doctor did.  So when I came back to the states I finally found a physician in San Fran that could do the fills but it was for $350 per fill, increases and decreases.  Now they charge $450.  So right there I have spent over 5K in fills since 2005.My story is I wish I had never had it done and instead had done the sleeve or the bypass, however again would of had to go to Mexico and that is a more invasive surgery.The band has never worked properly or maybe it has the only way I can loose the weight is eat and vomit, eat and vomit because believe you me if I can get food down my pipe I will eat till the cows come home.  So don't tell me eat small portions, eat the right food, don't over eat!  Well come on! 
I did maintain my weight for a couple years until I decided couldn't handle any longer and took out all fill in my band.  I was tired of not being able to eat lettuce ( I know weird)!  So I am fat again.
