Mine has been gradual rather than a single "Aha!" moment; at this point it is mainly health, though vanity plays some part. I'm just sick of being fat and all that comes with it- self-esteem issues, embarrassment, being so out of shape, etc., etc., etc....Ugh!!!! -
It's wonderful to a)have found this site, and b)find out I'm not alone in this journey! I don't have a date yet for my surgery, but am working on the latter part of April. I share all the excited and scared (out of my gourd, if I'm honest) feelings. You know what I'm most scared of? How I self-sabotage! Gonna need support, yes I am, and I'm good at giving it (I'm a nurse and a psychotherapist). Here, I just want to be me...

I'm hoping my surgery is the latter part of April. I've jumped through all of the hoops; the only thing remaining is insurance approval. I think I've read much of this site- it has been so helpful, especially about the tough work it takes. The info sessions tend to make it all seem simple and effortless- Ha! So thanks to all of you previous posters! Anne
