    I'm CHEWING today!!!!

Yay! I look forward to your stage!
  2. Welcome to the board, Rob- it's a good, supportive and kick-ass place to be! Like you, I didn't want to do anything permanent to my insides, hence my choosing the lap-band. Good luck and perseverance in your journey!

    BCBS Anthem of IL

I'm in the process of hurry up and wait, too. I have BCBS CT, and I'm hoping it doesn't take long once my paperwork is submitted.

    First Fill Horror!!

Yikes, you've got me convinced to make sure my doc does my fills! Sorry your experience was so awful! But 20 pounds is a lot, isn't it?
  9. Thanks for the friend request! Where are you in your process? I haven't even begun yet, other than practicing and old fashoined dieting! Here's to some ongoing support!

    I caved....

I had a bad day, too, and ate two diet fudgesicles at 120 calories a pop! Amazing to compare that with what I used to do! Like you, I'm playing the waiting game. They say the eating game gets easier after the band- I want to find out for myself!

    'newbie at postings'

Glad to hear you're feeling better so soon!
  13. Thanks, all, for the support around this! I can't wait for my pre-op diet because that means I will have a surgery date!
  14. Welcome from me, too! I have all my preliminaries complete, and now need insurance approval and a date. And my surgeon chooses to switch medical practices right now because he got a promotion in the hospital, so now I have to wait more, until latter May if I'm lucky. Like vdavenport above, I have been dieting and exercising and getting weight off pre-op. Not easy! I can't wait for the band!

    Eating Questions!!!!

I have my pre-op requirements met and am waiting for insurance approval and a date for surgery. What convinced me about the band is what it does to reduce both physical hunger and the amount a person is able to eat. Have to eat less in order to lose weight, plus change the type of calories eaten (don't get me near ice-cream). From extensive reading on this board, the band is a great tool that delivers as promised.

    Have my band in!

How come you think you were over the top? It was a great post to me! Thanks for your support, and here's from me back at you!
  17. Hi, bestest people! Pouring again today, so again the elliptical. Power was out for a couple of hours. No LBT and no clients, so curled up with my cat. Then got the news that my surgery is being put off yet again because my doctor is taking so long to switch medical practices. So now I'm trying to get my chart to the new practice so they can at least submit for insurance considering the chart has been complete for a month. Wish me luck and wish me patience! Bob- thanks for your thoughtful support. I should probably dub this PRE-Bandster Hell:scared2:, because I'm working on practicing, and we all know what it's like managing ourselves without the support of the band. Some days are just easier than others, like today, for instance. Christie- resignation is simply not allowed in our space anymore! Baggy panties no likee resignation! Leigha- Congrats on the 150! I grew up in the mountains of Montana, and did we have rattlesnakes! TJ- Good to meet you! Congratulations on your loss! Elfie- I still don't do facebook, otherwise I'd play. Shadst8- I hope you post anyway. I don't even have my band yet, probably won't until latter May at this point, but I'm finding that posting is helping with my motivation. It's good to be part of a supportive conversation:thumbup:.

    anyone else scared of failing...?

Thoughtful response, Spartan. Thanks- very useful.
  19. Thanks for your long perspective, Jack. I sure hope it's #1.
  20. Hello from CT- poured today, so no walk-but- did do elliptical at a good clip for 15 minutes. And I HATE dieting, did I say HATE dieting:cursing:? Lifestyle change bloohey:angry:! It's dieting, and I am so anxious for my band to help me make it a lifestyle change! I don't mind the idea of the 'easy' way at all, no I don't. I'm actually in a pretty good mood today in spite of it all- can you guess? Go figure- must be proud of myself or something:laugh:. I've been reading all the posts- this is getting to be a heck of a party here! I'm proud of all of us!

I'm so jealous of the three of you! Congratulations! My day will come...

    Treadmill VS Elliptical

If I have to choose, I would say my elliptical, but you need a good gym-quality one. I walk at least two miles a day, and the elliptical works my arms and heart. Hey, I like the idea of renting a Wii. Have to find out where I can do that.

    Have my band in!

Congratulations, Maree! I'm so jealous- I'm still waiting for approval and a date. I'm going to have a hernia repair at the same time also. Your experience sounds top-notch. I'm going to stay one night in an impersonal American hospital- I don't look forward to that part at all. Good luck with your journey!
  24. Me, too, good for you, Lisa! You've been a great example for us all of taking the high road, and doing what really works! I also appreciate your understanding the contribution of all the posters.
