Help! My pants are too big!

Try to find a good consignment shop. The one I shop at is very picky about the clothes they accept so the clothes I buy there are in great shape. A really nice pair of jeans is around $10-12 . . . much cheaper than a brand new pair. As an added bonus, you can take your clothes that are too big and the shop will sell them for you. You can take store credit to buy smaller stuff or they will give you money.
  2. I am looking for good books on emotional eating or life after lap band. Any suggestions?
  3. I'm about 5 weeks post-op and I have had my moments when I'm like "OMG!!! What have I done??!!!" But most of the time I am glad I did it. Today I bought a pair of jeans two sizes smaller and that was an AWESOME feeling! Very rewarding and motivating. Right now my husband is in the kitchen eating Reese Cups (my FAVE!) and I am totally resisting. I just keep repeating to myself something I read on here - Nothing tastes as good as being skinny feels!
  4. I'm having pain in my port area, too. I was banded on March 23rd and the pain just started yesterday. It comes and goes. It seems like it happens right after I stand up from bending over or get up from the floor. (I am a teacher and I have a 19 month old, so I'm on the floor a lot ) I'm worried about it because it seems to have started suddenly. If I still feel this way Monday I will call the doctor first thing in the morning. I did have my first fill last Wednesday. I wonder if it could be related to that?
  5. My surgery was March 23rd and I have also lost 21 lbs. I have started to become annoyed by the "how much have you lost now?" question, too. I decided I'm going to start replying with something like, "Oh, I stopped getting on the scale. I don't want to obsess over the numbers." and just leave it at that.

    closet cleaning!

HOW EXCITING!!! I'm sure that was an awesome feeling! Congrats!!! Now you need to do a little shopping . . . have fun!
  7. JaxNole - I don't think private schools have anything better. At least not the one my niece and nephew attend. The school orders takeout from the same local pizza place EVERY SINGLE DAY. Crazy, I know!!!!!! So their three choices are pizza, chicken nuggets (deep fried from the pizza place), or a packed lunch from home. And you can bet a huge percentage of those kids aren't bringing any food from home. Disgusting!!!
  8. I keep hearing the word "pb-ing". What does that mean? When/why does it happen?

    Crockpot Mexican Chicken Recipe

I love "quick" and I love chili! What's the recipe? Thanks for sharing!
  10. My surgery is Tuesday! Any advice on what to bring to the hospital? I will be staying one night. I HATE hospitals. I have only had to stay in one when my daughter was born. I was also wondering what I should have on hand at home for my full liquid diet . . . . . . What was your favorite/most healthful? Any other surgery day advice?
  11. I started my pre-op diet Tuesday. I noticed the same thing . . . I'm also wondering if it's normal.
  12. Day one today. I'm at work. Everyone else is eating lunch. I'm starving!

    Has anyone had......

btrieger - Did you increase your Wellbutrin mg's during you pre-op diet? I wondered about calling my dr to see if that would be ok . . . I start my diet Tuesday and I'm predicting moodswings, etc.

    Nervous Wreck!

Thanks for the advice everyone. I feel a little more calm today. Mears06 - My husband works nights so I don't have any help getting her ready for bed or up to take to the sitters in the mornings. I'll never make it 4 weeks, either. But I'm sure it will work out somehow. I know it will all pay off in the long run. She needs me to be healthy and I want to set a good example for her. She is my inspiration! Good luck Friday. Keep us posted! Megg40 - I have been doing a lot of research lately. You are right - that does help. Do you start a pre-op diet Wednesday? BetsyB - Good point. She IS going through the empathy stage. I can think of this as a learning opportunity! It really helps to have people to talk to that are going through the same thing and people who have already been through it. My husband is trying his best to be supportive, but he just can't truly understand it. I have only told two other people. Think I can get away with keeping it quiet until the surgery is over? I don't plan to keep it a secret. I just don't want everyone else's two cents beforehand. (By everyone else, I mean friends & family. NOT you guys. I definitely want YOUR two cents. lol)
  15. My surgery is March 23rd. I start my two week liquid diet Tuesday. Everytime I think about it I get a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach and very anxious. Mostly, I worry about not being able to complete the pre-op diet. I also worry about taking care of my 18 month old after the surgery. How long will it be until I can lift her? What did you do to survive the pre-op diet? I'm a teacher. Do you think I can get away with not telling anyone at work? lunch duty for 30 minutes everyday might suck - then again, school food isn't all that appetizing. I know I need to change my mind set . . . I just don't know how. Help!
