    Hair Loss

Hello All I had my lapband surgery on March 1st of 2010 and have had a loss of almost 120 pounds. I wouldn't say that I have had hair loss but I have had major breakage. I was reading something online about Hair Essentials. Has anyone heard of this. They are with the BBB. Please let me know I am trying anything. Thank you.

    Junk Food

Why is the junk food so easy to get down. "Normal" food is so much harder to take in. Making it easier just to make that choice to eat the junk food. It's really a struggle to do the right thing...does anyone agree??
  3. Hello All, has anyone else had this...it seems like it is so much easier to get down the bad foods then it is to get the good foods down...just wondering...i have really really good restriction now and it seems like if i take a bite of something bad...it goes down easy...take a bite of something good...goes down harder...and they can be the same size in bite...anyone else get this??? Something to ponder.:scared2:

    Good Food vs. Bad Food

Yes this is true...but I don't do it on purpose...I get so busy sometimes that i don't really think about the food any longer like I used to...

    Good Food vs. Bad Food

Thanks for the reply...I guess that is why we have to chew the good food up so well...but since I don't experience a lot of hunger anymore...sometimes I forget to eat and by the time I do eat I am ravenous...and that first big bite will do in the whole meal for me...hard to swallow that...so then I lose my appetite...does that happen to anyone??
  6. I feel like I am getting shorter...is this normal?? I have to get my son to reach things for me now.
  7. May sound a little weird but has anyone else been worried about it?? When we eat things that go down "hard" does that affect the size of your pouch? I have been wondering about this. Anyone Else? Thank you all.
  8. Hello...I am hypothyroid...and i notice if i skip my medicine the weight slows down...dont know if that is in my head or not...lol Heaviest weight...316 Presurgery weight...290 Current weight...223
  9. Hey all...I have written several times on here...my question is when I eat something that goes down very rough...for a little while after that i feel like i have a ball in my throat...does anyone else get that feeling? I do not want to stretch my pouch and dont know what that is...is it just from something going down hard...a lot of what i eat does go down pretty rough...but i dont think i am chewing good enough...i am still learning that thru trial and error...i would like anyone's input...thanks and everyone keep up the great work....

So it hurts to eat with the band?

The above are correct in chewing...I am still learning that I have to chew my food...had my surgery in March and if you dont chew your food or you eat too fast...there will be pain like you wouldn't believe...I mainly get it with the first bite of food (still learning)...but i wish you good luck with that process!!!

    Hunger?

Does anyone have days where they just feel ravenously hungry? Just asking because I do feel hunger and a girlfriend of mine who also had surgery said she feels like she has some day where she feels like she can't get enough food...I do the protein thing everyday...I don't know if she does...Has anyone else had this problem??? Thank you.

    Hunger?

OK I am still a little baffled here...When people say they eat one cup of food...is that for the whole meal? Or is that besides their protein (like the meat)? I just got banded in March and have lost 57 pounds...it's starting to slow up a bit...exercise everday...just wondering...cuz I can eat a WW smart ones meal...is that bad???
  16. Hello wondering if anyone else has this problem...during exercise I get this pain on my lower gut area on the right side...does anyone else get that? Just wondering what it is...Thank you!!

    Pain in Lower Gut Area

Hello thank you for the congrats...it was a long time coming...it is a pain worth having definitely...i thought maybe it was because (may sound a little weird) maybe my fat was bouncing around now in the stomach area...cuz it only seems to happen when i am walking and not doing other exercise...and i see you guys are doing great also...keep up the good work and thank you for answering.
  18. Hello I am wondering if anyone is having the same weird weight fluctuation that I am. I will wake up in the morning and weigh myself...I'm thinking good and I am getting all happy...weigh myself later in the day and I weigh like two pounds more...WTH!!! Is anyone else having this same problem???
  19. I think I will follow that advice also...sounds good to me!!!...I would also like to thank everyone that has replied!!!
  20. Thank you for the reply...I may start following that advice...I am going to try and stay off the scale and weigh myself once a week...let's see how I do!!!! LOL
  21. That is all the advice that I have been hearing from everyone...I think I am going to just go with the weight in the morning too...I try to stay off the scale but I do use it to make sure I am on track weight wise...I know everyone that does this can feel me!!!
  22. yes this is true...i get up in the morning go to the gym...get naked weigh myself and then shower and its getting pretty good...
  23. I think we all get a little addicted to the scale...its our replacement for the food...but i think i was a little lucky cuz i never had and self loathing issues with being heavy...i was very unhealthy tho...even the little bit of weight that i have lost (just about 46)...off high blood pressure meds and diabetic meds...i think that is very good for me!!!
  24. I think the only reason why we weigh ourselves so much is so we know that we are still on track...do the doctors realize that? Does anyone have any slipups either?
  25. I had a horrible experience with a hard boiled egg...but everything else is okay or not okay from one day to the next...last night at a few pretzels...no problem...today tried to eat the same pretzels...had an episode...I don't think I am at my "sweet spot" yet either...
