I was an obese child/teen and a morbidly obese adult. I have had a hard life with my obesity issues and the pain others inflict on you when you are different. I made a choice several years ago to have weight loss surgery and spent months reviewing and researching types of surgery and mortality rates. I found my Dr to be one of the best that performed weight loss surgery laproscopically. I was fortunate to have BCBS in 2003 and was approved right away and nothing but the normal co pays out of pocket. I had to jump through hoops but it was worth it. I lost over 150 pounds and have regained due a streched stoma, causing my food to fall through to my old stomach. I am seeking a revision with my same Dr and will begin a new job with United Healthcare.
