I have been fighting the weight battle all of my life. The only time I was my goal weight was briefly in high school ( about 1 1/2 yrs ) I basically ate nothing and exercised my butt off. I have tried everything out there available. I really wanted to do this without surgery. But after continuing to fight the battle and having several friends who had the surgery and were successful i have finally decided yrs later to go ahead and bite the bullet and have surgery. I did have a few " ah ha" moments this summer. The first occurred on vacation. I went on a cruise and had a really hard time keeping up with everyone on the ship plus on one of the excursions i felt so bad because my boyfriend had to check out where we were going and then come back and get me and lead the way. We had gone to the Atlantis resort and after a huge long walk just to get to the water park area i was just about dead! Then when we would try to go somewhere we kept running into dead end areas. This is the reason he would go and find out where we needed to go and then come back and get me. I wanted to die!!! He was a trooper though and didn't say anything. Then not too long after getting back from that trip I had to take my oldest off to college. After a walk completely across campus with a group of engineering students and their parents that I thought I was not going to live thru and he chance that I was going to totally embarrass my son and the EMTS were going to have to be called I again decided enough is enough. My son had another meeting to go to. I had to go back across campus to get back to the car. I can not remember how many times i had to stop on the way across campus but it was multiple. On one of the stops I called my best friend ( who had previously had surgery ) and told her how pathetic i was and how i really thought i was going to go into cardiac arrest and totally embarrass my son before making it across campus and now i was unable to make it back. Ok that was it. When i got home I looked into getting into my 401K and getting $ BUT my company had been bought out and that was not going to be as easy as I thought......Well here we are almost a year later and I am FINALLY going to be able to have my surgery :) My youngest son who is 15 is always wanting me to work out with him. One of these days in the not so far off future i will be able to!!!!!
