please read about my gastroparesis!!!
sheilamj1fan replied to bandednomore's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi my name is Sheila and I am just starting the Lap band process after much thought. However, I am VERY concerned now, I never heard of Gastroparesis. I am already nervous about having the band and port inside my body, now "if" I have it I will be worrying about Gastroparesis or erosion everyday. Man...I am suppose to see the nutrionist tomorrow, psychologist on Thursday and my consult with the surgeon is on Friday. I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about it and debating, so now I think I will slow down the process and think very hard on it or become more educated on ALL the risks. Thank you so much for sharing your story and I will say a special prayer for you tonight. Be Blessed, Sheila Marie -

I totally agree with you Carol! :clap2: :clap2: -
Hello everyone today is October 30th and I have finally sheduled an appointment with Dr. Mace Coday (psychologist) on Wednesday November 1st after her next opening was January 18! I go tomorrow to meet with the Jennifer Krog (nutritionist) and then my appoinment with the surgeon on November 3rd. For some reason I find myself waking up in the middle of the night scared out of my mind about the surgery. I have compared the risks and pain, but he benefits out weigh them both. I can't wait to wear a tank top with out coverng up my arms! I know someone knows what I mean...or putting on a long shirt to cover my stomach. I know the time will come...so until then I'll keep on covering up. Talk to you all later. Sheila Marie;)

:clap2: Wow that is great info Dani!!!:clap2: Hello my name is Sheila and I have UHC, I'm hoping my approval journey is not going to take long. I feel it won't, but I called my primary care physician on 10/27 and 10/28 to get my medical record and a letter from regarding WLS. However he stated he will not give me one until he see me, because we have never discussed WLS...but he just saw me six months ago:mad:. Is this normal? I am thinking about finding me another doctor, but I don't want to waste anymore time. Anyway, I went ahead and made an appointment for 10/30. I will meet with the surgeon on 11/3 for my first consultation. I have it set in my mind that this is what I want to do and I pray everything will work out. I would like to have the surgery if at all possible, by Thanksgiving or definitely by the second week in December. I hope you doing good Dani and good luck Tia!

Today is October 27th and I have made up my mind to have the Lap Band procedure. I've gone to the Dr. Woodman's (901-869-2000) seminar and have spoke with so many nice people here on LapBandtalk.com that have made me feel that this is a great decision. I have scheduled my first appoinment with Dr. Woodman (Novemeber 3rd, day before my birthday)I've also made an appointment with the nutritionist (Jennifer Krog 901-767-3576) and I am in the process of waiting for the psychologist nurse to call me back to set up and appointment with the psychologist (Dr. Mace Coday 347-8206). Oh yeah I am also waiting for my primary care physician to send me the letter of reccomending the Lap Band and my medical records. So hopefully everything will go smooth, but I am expecting so bumps in the road. I will update you all soon on my process.

Hello from Somerset, England
sheilamj1fan replied to tanya67's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hello I am considering the Lap Band and I've been doing my research, but I feel a little nervous. I live in Memphis, TN and I'm going to the seminar on 10/16, but last night I dreamed I was at the seminar and some how they begin to prep me for the surgery! Man, I was sooo nervous...my mom told me NOT to do it, but I'm looking forward to being small (10/12). I'm a 16 now pushing an 18 and miserable! My friend is a RN and she said I'm taking the easy way out...but she takes Adipex. I was on Adipex also and my body could not tolerate it and on top of that I was hospitalized because of it. The doctor told me not to take any type of diet pill agan, but I didn't listen and got sick again. So I'm at the end of my rope and I grab hold to a BAND!
