So, one week today it will all be over, my op will be done and dusted and my new journey beginning. I gotta whole mix of emotions going on right now, nerves are proper building and pre op diet isn't quite going to plan. Gonna make a real effort over the weekend to just have my Cambridge shakes and a load of water. Bandsters, is your recovery time longer the bigger you are? I've got about 110lbs to lose, and I am so worried about post op pain and mobility after seeing Paul's updates. I'm obviously trying to think of all the positives once I'm healed and the weight is coming off but I'm scared right now, I'm sure I will be fine and I'm probably getting in a state for nothing, just want the nest few days to pass quickly and get out there. Well done on your loss so far Paul and hope you Kerry & Susan feel loads better v soon. C x -

So the 2 week countdown has begun euro's ordered and I'm all ready to start the pre op diet tomorrow. Have started buying boullion, soups, baby food fruit purees etc oh and yummy farleys rusks for post op, and hubby bought me a big comfy tracksiut and t shirts to accomodate swelling after for the journey home. That will hopefully be the last time I will be buying plus size! I also bought a journal as I have got so much going round in my head good, bad, nerves and excitement etc that I thought putting pen to paper might help; that or drive my Husband mad by keep talking about this band! It will be a good way of tracking my journey anyway from being a Fatty Patty to a Skinny Minny! C x -

Hi Kerry, so pleased to hear everything went well. Thanks for the full run down, very helpful for those nervously waiting to go. Was the consult with Dr Chris in the morning the first one you had, or had you seen him in the UK before? Wish you a speedy recovery, keep us posted on your first week. Take care C x -

Hi Paul, thanks for the info. Very best of luck on Tues now that you are all shaved and ready to go!!! Did you have to, erm, de fluff below the waist, if you know what I mean? :smile2: I thought I saw this mentioned on the site somewhere a while ago? Also Paul, I think you booked yours fairly recently too, but once you had the date confirmed, when did Fred come back with any further info re arrangements. I am guessing they are real busy as it is taking a few days to get answers to some questions. I have booked the package so do I assume that the Hotel etc will all be taken care of as a matter of course when the deposit is received? Have you had a consultation with Dr CDB already or are you having it once you are out there? Sorry for all the questions! Good luck, will be keeping an eye out for your updates. C X -

Good luck Scooby Doo, Hope the bandsters can re assure you, but I too want to know if everyone has wobbles and how stringently people stuck to the pre op diets? I feel like I'm on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster, so happy and excited one minute, but sh***ing myself the next. Also just found out my mum doesnt want me to put myself through this : ( Gotta go see her tomorrow and talk her thorugh eveything as I think someone has totally mis informed her, excatly why I didn't want it discussing outside! Good luck for next week, look forward to hearing how it went. x -

Hi Freckles Well my brother calls me pork ball, and yeah he used to call me that when I was young and skinny too! My little neice overheard me talking to my mum when I said I can't wait to be a skinny minny, and asked why did I want to be a skinny minny, I replied, because I 'm fed up of being a Fatty Patty! It has stuck since then. Thanks for the advise, well done on your loss. I can't wait to have this done x -

Hello, not long for you now then, how are you feeling? I have lurked for ages and read hundreds of pages on this thread, pulling out lots of hints and tips from all the bandsters, and it is amazing to see the success stories - Well done eveyone! Also useful to read about the not so good bits to this jouney, as I'd rather know up front. I am just praying that this will work for me and that I won't be plagued by all of the issues at once! But ,yes having done the Cambridge I am prepared for several months of eating slop! Good Luck for next week C x -

Good Morning Bandsters, pre bandsters and lurkers, This is my my first post and wanted to say Hi after months of lurking, as I got news last night that I am almost sorted on the fund front and have emailed Fred again to secure my surgery date of either 23rd or 26th March! I can't believe it has suddenly come together, and have hardly slept going through everything in my head, hence the early post. I am sure it is the right thing to do, and I am sure everyone must have had a panic moment beforehand, right? So quick bit about me, I am 33, married with 2 fur babies, chronic PCOS sufferer and have been TTC for almost 5 years. I have pretty much got to halve me to qualify for IVF, but after reading success stories of ladies being banded and not only falling pregnant naturally, but also being cured almost 100% of PCOS Symptoms, I have decided that this is the route that I too need to take, drastic as it seems to some. I lost almost 4 stone last year on the Cambridge diet, then with one thing and another and a depressive period over my failure to conceive, I slower piled 3 stone back on. I have then put on another stone since I gave up smoking 9 weeks ago today! So, I know this band is not going to be my miracle and I still gotta put in a huge amonunt of effort & exercise, it is going to be a massive helping hand I hope. 2 questions, for now, is any one else seeing Dr CDB at the end of March? and have any lady bandsters on this thread with PCOS had success conceiving naturally? Many thanks for reading and I look forward to sharing my journey with you all x
