Anyone purchase Muscle Milk Light @ Costco?
neyad replied to ajd7's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
AJDJ, I love Muscle Milk from Costco. If you have not found out all the info, let me know. You can also purchase it from vitacost.com. We love the chocolate and vanilla. Just purchased the cookies and cream (not here yet). We add blueberries to the vanilla and a banana to either the chocolate or vanilla, water and ice in the blender. Yummy! -
Thanks Alsobrook71, It all makes sense. I like the ebsom salts idea. I use that in baths after I work in the yard for hours. Really helps with muscle ache.

Spideymom, You look great! Are you still able to maintain the weight loss??
-
Thanks Jachut for sharing all your knowledge of loosing weight and how to control loose skin. You look great, so you are doing something right!
-
Glad to hear about the stomach. It seems like so many need tummy tucks. Good for you!

Have you found that the exercise has tightened up the loose skin, thus eliminating any surgical procedures?

What the heck?!?! Why do people say the things that they do?
neyad replied to gingerjane's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is why I do not share this with anyone but a close friend. People should mind their own business, and be supportive of other people's choices and not judgmental. -
I met with the surgeon and dietician 2/25/10. I meet with the psychologist tomorrow. She said make sure you bring your tracking sheets (1400 calories day plus exercise). Well, I have been trying to stick to 1400 calories/day, but I have not been able to get off my butt to get on the ellyptical. I have been in a funk for months as far as movement. I think when I regained that last 20 lbs I just was disgusted and at this weight I feel like a slug. Anyway, wonder what the psychologist is going to do since I am not exercising? I am going to try to jump on today, just to show I am trying. Anyone get beat up for not exercising when they met with the shrink?

Thanks Majj. No surgery date set yet. The paperwork still needs to be submitted. More time to focus on getting ready! -
My name is Terri and I have been reading this forum daily since I discovered it! This is exactly what I needed to comfort the unknown and give me the support needed to proceed. I have met with the surgeon, dietician and the psychologist. I need to call the surgeon tomorrow and see how the insurance coverage is going. I feel very confident in my surgeon and his team which is really important when having surgery. I am seeing Dr. Bhoyrul, at Scripps in La Jolla, CA. I wanted the best surgeon and hospital within my vicinity. I am so looking forward to looking great again! It has been a L-O-N-G time. My best to all the Bandsters on this forum and all their hard work. I am looking forward to walking on this journey together. Bandsters UNITE!:party:

Hi Ms. Chaval, Glad to be your Bandster friend. You are farther along than I, but I am worried about the same thing. I am so mentally ready for this and then if the insurance does not authorize it, I will be heart sick. During this time though, I am trying to practice eating slower (not too good at this yet), exercise, eating 1400 calories/daily (which is sometimes hard), and putting together recipes and things I will eat Post-op. The waiting is so hard though! Hang in there! Terri

Thanks Betsy for your advice and support. Amazing how 30 min. of exercise a day is not a big deal...the brain really tries hard to talk one out of it.
-
Ok, I dun good! :thumbup:I have been on the elliptical the past two days for 30 minutes each day! Yeah! It is a start. Let's hope this keeps up. It is also good to know as a motivator, that the exercise is so that you do not get blood clots in your legs after surgery. My psychologist reminded of this today! A very good reason to MOVE IT!

Thanks BT. I am going right now and jump on that thing! Thanks for the encouragement!

Feeling lost with out food
neyad replied to sharondysart70's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I can relate to your statement. One of my deciding factors to have the Lap Band was if I could give up "pigging" out. I did not want to live feeling fat the rest of my life. My hope is feeling good and healthy will feel better than pigging out. You only feel worse as you get older. It is harder to carry the weight around. Hang in there and keep motivated and hoping that you will find something that fills that void.
