I have been fighting my weight most of my life and suffice to say, I am so tired of weight being an issue in my life. I have been to Weight Watchers off and on so many times to loose some and then gain it back. I truly believe for some of us, weight is a disease. I am so ready to be at a good healthy weight, to not hate taking pictures, feel comfortable exercising, not feel hot all the time, not have food be the center of my life. Not loose 25 lbs to gain 50 lbs. I want to be a good weight and stay there. I am hoping with the Lap Band this is possible. I am now working on my 1400 calorie diet a day. I need to get on the elliptical so the shrink does not kill me. I have an appointment next week with her and have already met with the surgeon and the dietician. They are still working on my insurance. I am a 40 BMI with no cormorbities, so I am hoping they okay the surgery. I am reading myself for no more diet drinks, eating slowly, mentally preparing for the liquid diet and then puree food. Long term and no more pigging out. This is all an adjustment, but has to happen. I am hoping loosing the weight and feeling better outweight all the fun I have had eating myself to death! I am not looking forward to the saggy stomach. Really do not want to put out thousands for a tummy tuck. Also, my face may look a bit thin and show more wrinkles. But I will be healthy! The journey continues.Update! I have an April 7th surgery date. I am on Day 7 of my liquid diet. I have lost about 13 lbs total starting from 1400 calories/day diet to liquid diet. That should help out the shrinking of my liver. Found out I could have split pea soup which has really helped me get through the liquid diet. Surgery is over! Between the Lap-Band surgery books I ordered and the forum, I found out all the details of what I was facing, so when it happened I could deal with it better mentally. I wanted to be as informed as possible before the surgery. Last but not least, a big hug to my husband Mike, who without his support and assistance during my Lap-Band prep and recovery, not sure how I would have made it physically and mentally. He is the best a wife could have! Love you!
