well done kerry and the walking is great go you,your doing fab too claire not much to go now hun,funny doc checked my thyroid,and went to blame my band straight away so i put him straight and told him it not band being too tight as i know the difference now and i was fit to eat a few days before the stress took hold but the last couple of days ive been ok i went cinema last night to see pirate of caribeen it was ok but i was fit to eat half box pop corn and a few sweets so was happy enough then came home and had some Soup, funny there are days you can eat and days you cant,but i do think stress make a difference in eating glad you are all well hope you are too freckles take care xxx

Back from a lovely week in Cornwall with superb weather. I felt comfortable being on the beach and being in a bikini although didn't take my t-shirt top off as I didn't want to show my horrible all loose skin boobs and tops of my thighs! Ohh how I do hope I can get funding to have the top half done as they are awful and I felt very concious of them!

Apart from that though have come home to weigh and have lost another 3.5 lbs. So aware that I am struggling to eat though and to get the liquids down. Have had some good days and very down days where just felt very stressed.

Interesting Wannabe that you have found it to be linked to stress. I was sat very quietly the other evening and started to have heart palpitations and eventually they slowed down but it did frighten me a little. Has this all been just a little too quick????? Had my blood results back as well for my Thyroid and it was 2.5 whohc is within the norm but so lost as I'm not sure whether I should resume taking the eds or not. Decided to take them every other day and wondering f this is what is causing me to feel unwell.

Other interesting point (maybe not for anyone else so sorry) but I noticed when I went into the Tropical Biome at the Eden Project last year I sweated buckets. This year I walked around in trousers that had a warm layer underneath and a t-shirt and everyone else was sweating but I was cool as a cucumber and as soon as I came out had to put my warmer layers on as I felt so cold. Is this normal????/

Anyway, 8 lbs to go and just 1.5 lbs until 100 lb loss. Wow this was my 3rd mini target and I can't quite believe that I am so near. The last 6 pounds I shall be wishing off as I need to make a Dr's appointment and see my GP in order to get the referral.

Oh and forget to mention that i have just joined a website called Nutracheck and in my first 7 days have lost 6 1/2 pounds. They take your stats, give you an online food diary, and tell you how many calories for the day. It's so easy and you make friends on there, get recipes and i love it. It is so motivational and the way i'm going, the site has my target weight obtained by September. Try it if you're like me and need new inspiration x

hope your feelin better soon patty and tee bird not too sure hun about fills in dubai,i have to say girls i havnt eaten for a week and found out it wasnt my band but nerves how weird i took a diazapan and once i seetled down i was able to eat so going to see doc to see if he can giveme more tabs lol hope your all doing well

It was lovely to meet you, you look fantastic.I am doing ok but so restricted, tolerate only fluids and Soups. Tried solids couple of times and got badly stuck with panic attacks. one time the food was stuck for at least 2hours I really panicked... settled eventually but I am so affraid to eat anything solid in case if it gets stuck again.I dont feel hunger at all, but when my hands start to shake I realize that its time for some sugar.I tried some 'soft'solids but got stuck again.I feel fine,still normal levels of energy,dont feel any weaker, keep walking regularly, drink my Protein Shakes once a day.most defenately I will not need any more fills for quite some time.I will have to start eat some solids soon, to keep my energy levels.

It was nice to meet you and have a chat, you really look so well, please do me a favour and change that photograph because you look so different with your new hairstyle,so much better.

thanks hun you dont look too bad yourself,hey im not that good on computer lol i will try and change pic he he,since my fill i havnt eaten at all i cant so i just have a wee bit of fluids that's all i can handle,if i drink too much i feel bloated and too full so i have to make myself sick so i dont have that horrible feeling just hope it dies down soon as my energy has dropped so tired all the time lol so nice to see you i should't think you will need any more fill hun you look fantastic hope your's settles down soon also talk soon xx

hi hun yes i got 1.5ml out in my emergency de fill and the following month got 75ml in but im wondering was it too much as at the min i cant eat anything at all just wee bits of Water and im being sick if i have too much so i will see how i go and if it carries on i will go for a defill at next clinic lol your doing well yourself hun how you getting on will your fills xx

I don't expect you to believe me but google earth the addresses - UK is basically a P O Box number with over 50 companies registered there. The French address in Calais is a flat over a shop not a Clinic. All telephones will go to an answer machine in France and you will be called back. No signed contract or T&Cs will be signed or issued to you.

i know about her hun she is a bad one but the surgeon dr de bruynewho she deals with dosnt know half of what shedoes like cancel surgery and flights because she dosnt let you contact doctor yourself they dont know they are stuck in a contract with her which they are getting outof i went direct with the surgeon and everythink wasgreat but i did meet people there who had been let down by her

Thanks for your quick response yes i do walk and ive just bought a pair of skechers tone up flip-flops i live in Ayr Scotland and i live near the beach me and my friend walk along to the pier and back about 2.5 miles. As for my fills.Chris takes it out and then fills it back in everytime ive been for a fill so i dont have a leek.When i go to see him on Thurs im going to have a proper chat intead of saying i feel fine and being filled and sent on my way. Did u feel any restriction at all before you got 7.5mls i think i read it in one of your posts that you are eating more since you got 1.5mls taken back out do you think 7 and 7.5 are the magic numbers i really hope so.Thanks again for your support i guess its hard for bansters who get restriction quickly to understand how fusrating it is

your doing everything right hun,i did feel a little restriction but nothing like when i had the 7ml so your next fill might be your answer hun,but if i was you go early and sit outside and drink Water to make sure you dont get overfilled like i did,that's what im gonna do on thur get my fill and sit outside in the waiting room for about an hour to make sure im ok,because last time i went straight home and couldnt keep nothing down so chin up,this could finally be the fill you need hope so hun keep us informed xx

Havent been posting for a while as im so fed up im at that stage where i am begining to think ive wasted all that money on surgery. And as a result i feel like a total failure.I have had 3 fills now and a total of 6.5mls in my band and i have no restriction what so ever.I can eat bread Pasta rice and in fairly big portion size.I have lost 17.5 pounds since surgery in feb and nothing since (im 284 pounds) so i should be losing a lot more weight than that.I know that the first couple of fills dont help much but i really think i should feel some restriction now.I do realise the band is only a tool but its not doing its job and as a result im obviously eating too much.I could start counting cals again or go to ww but it never worked in the past and thats why i opted for surgery.Im going to see chris this thurs and i think i need to get a decent fill and a proper chat to see where im going wrong.Im so sorry to be so negative but i do think people need to know its down sides as well.If there is anyone out there who has been in my position id love to hear from u or any advice would be helpful i cant tell you how depressed this is making me i dont think i have ever felt so low.

However a big well done to fatty patty i am so pleased for u and i pray that everything goes smooth and stress free from now on.

i feel for you hunny,why not ask dr chris to take out what you have in and check it's all there and that there isn't a leak,if that is all ok maybe your next fill will do it hun i know when i got to 7.5ml it was too much but 7ml might of been ok i hope you get sorted out,do you walk sara im saying that cause i think the walking is helping me a bit although i hate it i try and make myself do abit lol xx

Hello all

Hope everyone is well and has had a nice weekend.

Me and hubs have had a celebratory one, as we finally got the news on Thursday that we have been referred to the IVF consultant again as my weight is now within the guidelines to have the treatment.

My blood test results showed normal hormone levels for the first time in 16 years since being diagnosed with PCOS, except for low progesterone so I still don't appear to be ovulating on my own although I have now had 5 consecutive monthly's, which hasn't happened for about 10 years.

So after 14 months of this life changing weird and wonderful and sometimes frustrating weightloss journey, my efforts have paid off and we are edging closer to our dream of one day having a family.

To say I am delighted is an understatement, and I spent most of Thursday evening swinging between being utterly gobsmacked and speechless to then hysterical crying!

We have no idea how long the wait will be to get the initial appointment to see the consultant again, but my doc said the only thing she was slightly concerned about now that may not go in our favour is my age, as I am 35 in 2 weeks, and the 2 neighbouring counties to ours PCT's have just cut their age limit to 34, so if you weren't already going through the referral process or on the consultants books you wouldn't now get in.

A little concerned but keeping everything crossed that lady luck is on our side this time, and I'm no longer going to worry about my crinkly little belly anymore as hopefully I will have a little one in residence in the not to distant future!

Oh how glad am I that I had this band fitted, just wish I'd done it years ago.

i was banded december 10 and have lost 3stones in fits and starts. had 4th fill last wed, now have 5.5 mil in a 7.5 mil helioscope band.

I felt ok thursday, then did a zumba class friday morning (fun but i'd not excercised in years). since sat the band seems to have tightened up lots. just managing liquids at the mo. had a couple of sick bouts too. i'm starting to worry a bit now, but don't know whether to wait a day or two to see if it calms down.

Anyone had anything similar? Do you think zumba might have shaken it about too much.

Also i'm flying to spain for 3 weeks on 21st and don't want to feel like this!

hi llam i would give it a couple of days to see if it settles down when i was overfilled i knew within an hour as i couldnt swallow my own saliva and was sick constantly,try having your Fluid for a few days and couple of lollies and see how you go xx

hi lads, just new here. Been very down lately with my weight, and after years of yoyo dieting i'm seriously considering a lap band. I'm based in Dublin and would prefer to stay over here to have surgery, mostly because i don't think i could get anyone to go with me abroad. So can you please tell me the places that do it in Ireland and prices? Their doesn;t seem to be many??? Also the one in Belgium, looks very promising, any feed back incase i can get a friend to go. PRices, hotels etc.

Any comments would be great, just can't do this for much longer, had a serious melt down the other day and am feeling very low about my self.

i agree with fatty boomboom dr chris de bruyne in belgium is hard to beat i paid 4150 euro direct with the surgeon himself and that includes hotel for 2 peeps for 3 days ,surgery and taxi to and from airport and hotel you just have to get your flights,i had mine done and no regrets

hi im new to this and iv booked my band with dr chris de bruyne for the 20th may im really exited now but a little worried because my neighbour had it done in jan this yr (2011) and if nethin she looks like she put on lol.... dnt want this to happen to me! can anyone give me any advice? and what the weight loss is like? thanx

dont worry jem were all different she might not have had many fills your neighbour it takes at least 2 fills before most of us start feeling any restriction,so if she got banded in jan and got a fill in feb and one in march she might only start losing weight from now onwards but it does depend on each person,i lost 14lb in the first couple of weeks,then about half stone a month,depends how much you have to lose and how strict you are xxx

I was just thinking how you were all getting on i was going to message you tonight and ask your advise.I went for a fill last friday he got 2.5mls in and that takes me up to 5.5mls but i still have no restriction and ive got the chance to go to Edinbourgh this week for another fill however after reading your post i think i might give it a miss.What do you think.Hope you are ok now and enjoy your long weekend.

if i was you hun slow and steady,see how you get on i would wait until next month, from now on im only getting o.5 in my fill instead of 1ml,think ive deffo learnt a lesson lol,i think your fills will be too close together remember the tortoise get there in the end lol wish i would of listened to that i was that desperate to get restriction quick but im just gonna take it steady now hun xx thanks to all for you nice comments

hi all hope you all had a great weekend,how you doing daisy nice meeting you in belfast,hope your doing well.Anyway's i will tell you all my wee story,went for my fill last thursday was greedy and wanted as much as i could get in lol,i got another 1ml drank my Water afterwards and seemed fine driving back home started to feel a bit sick was sick on myself whilst driving home lol,nothing i could do,got home started to pack the caravan for a weekend in the south of ireland,headed off and vomited from thursday until friday got so bad admitted myself to hospital in westport they said nothing they could do as they hadnt deal with band before and sent me home at this point i had awful pains across my back and chest from the retching couldnt even swallow my own spit had to spit in a sick bag because if i swallowed it i would just be sick again,sorry for the graphics but you never know when your gonna be in this situation,i got so bad hubby phoned the oncall doctor who sent an ambulance and they took me to the same hospital as i went to the night before who couldnt help me they wanted to give me an anti sickness injection,but i told them no way as im needle phobic and i wasnt being sick form my stomach so it wouldnt help so again i left the hsopital upset an this point as i was sick of being sick phoned up julie appointmens girl and she gave me 2 numbers for dublin and belfast,at that point i was willing to drive anywhere both these places were 3.5 hrs away from me so i phoned the dublin nurse who does dublin and can you believe she lived in castlebar which is the next town from were i was on holiday and she told me not to worry and went to the local hospital got supplies and drove over to me in my caravan and gave me a defill,let me say it was the best 110 euro i have ever spent lol i gave her a big hug and extra money because i was so relieved and pleased and felt instant relief,i had tried lollies and cold drinks but think i was way to filled so im now staying on fluids for at leat a week or so till it settles down again quite scary and hairy at the same time,but after all that i still had the last couple of day's to enjoy the sun lol,let me tell you from now on my fills will be small ones xxxx

Well, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to men! I thought losing weight and getting back to my pre-married size would improve my marraige...but it hasn't! He says he loves for what is on the inside...that he misses my bum...No compliments..., it's me that's been on the verge of leaving, but we have 6 kids so it's not that easy...so I'm still here. I don't understand, I thought it would bring the spark back and we'd be like newly weds, I can fit into my wedding dress again! He did propose again but it didn't make sense as we were not getting on at all, I actually thought I had misunderstood him!

I hope you get on ok, and things go smoothly for you, just think of this as a new chapter in your life!

After losing 5 stone now I'm feeling better than I ever have (or I was!) and now this... argh. We own everything together this break up is gonna be a nightmare. The idea of dating again... eek help!!

pardon the french but what a nasty shite i hate that especially if you were'nt expecting it hun,arnt you glad in a way though that you have lost weight,so you wont sit in all the time and get back out there and get yourself an identity,us women settle down and dont go out the door and then when we do well me anyway i get a phone call off hubby were are you,see he isnt use to me going out anywhere but that will defo change lol,im gonna treat him mean and keep him keen,so chin up hun all things happen for a reason xxx
