How long after surgery before your first bowel movement.
MrMom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 2 days post op and yet to have one. Is this normal? Am I constipated? I've been passing some gas every now and then. Thanks for any insight. -
I have 7.7 in my 14 cc band. I notice my weight stays pretty much the same when I consume a lot of empy calories. When I cut those out I begin losing again. I haven't had a fill in a few months, but I want to go in to get one, because I still feel like I'm eating too much at a time. Good Luck

If you followed the diet , you should have no worries. Don't go into the doctor with a weight loss number in your head. Just be satisfied whatever the number is. At the clinic I visit, it has a sign on the scale, "no whining", lol. -

Is the ultimate goal to cut out as much foods as possible? No Pasta, no soda, no bread, no broccoli, no steak? I'm eating one major meal a day, lunch. I'll eat about 4 oz of meat, 1/2 cup of potatos or some other starch, and maybe a vegetable and a slice of wheat bread. The other meal are light to say the least. A Protein shake usually for Breakfast, occasionally a hearty one, such as eggs, bacon , toast, hashbrowns. dinner consists of just something light, like a half a sandwich or some string cheese and some crackers. I enjoy a soda a few times a week and a beer as well. I'm not snacking, except the few times I can't resist something yummy, but never go overboard. I'm rarely hungry between meals and continue to lose weight, not at a fast rate, but it is steady. Now, my question is, is another fill necessary , to cut out those no-no items like soda, beer, bread and other things that can get stuck? About the only time I have issues, is when I eat too fast and the couple of times I dared to drink something carbonated while eating. I won't do that again. Anybody at this stage?

Haven't had a problem eating popcorn. I'm at 7.4cc in a 14cc band, though.

First Fill under my belt FINALLY...
MrMom replied to JanicaPeterson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Awesome. Fills aren't really that big of a deal. Just be careful the first few days after. Some foods might not be as cooperative. I've had 2 fills so far. I'm up to 7.4 in a 14cc band. -
Its kind of a slow, steady process. I was eating solids a week after I had surgery, in very small amounts. I was full all day long and didn't snack. Like my doctor said, if you start feeling hungry before meal time, it might be time for a fill. I had 2 fills so far and think I might have hit the sweet spot. You will go through a period where, you might be able to eat whatever you want. Try not to feel guilty about that, just remember its a work in progress and it takes time to get to that level where you are not snacking and small meals will keep you fuller longer.

how many cc's for restriction 14cc
MrMom replied to Alfie's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I just found out today at my 2nd fill that I have a 14cc band. I had 6.4 before today, and felt some restriction, but could eat anything as long as I chewed and ate slow. Carbonated beverages were also going down fine. Right now I'm at 7.4. I hope to be able to get some diet restrictions now. But if not, then October 13th, I'll get another fill. Not worried too much, still losing about 5-9 lbs a month for the last 2 months. -
i ate a meatball flatbread sandwich from subwayonly cheese on it. im comfortably full. im 6.4cc on a 10cc band
-
all i was asking was if that was a lot of food to eat...i figured since its my first fill ,id ask what other ppl consider a lot

Maybe you're ready for some solid foods. I was only on liquids for a week , then moved to solids. I had good restriction after meals and stayed full for hours. Just be sure to chew well and take small bites. Good luck.
