    Constipation

I actually have a very hard time having a bowel movement to the point I have hemorrhoids. Make sure to monitor that you are going every couple of days. Unfortunately, I only go twice a week and it's painful and uncomfortable. Recently, I've discovered waffles are a good source of fiber. Typically, after I eat one it gets things moving. Try that and make sure to incorporate lots of water.

    6 Days Post-Op... Gas Pains!

You need to walk...keep walking...till it moves around. Even if it unbearable keep walking!!! My fiance needed to hold me while I walked off the gas pains because I thought I was going to pass out. But, the more I walked it helped. For a moment, I thought I was dying. Never had felt like that before.
  4. Thank you! I am a week post-op and need the reality of listening to my body. I will take your experience as a learning opportunity. Hope your feeling better!

    100 pounds PEACE OUT! lol

How long did it take you to lose 100 pounds? You look great!
  6. Awesome job! I love creamy of chicken Soup by Campbell it's only 100 calories and I add rice for more of a filling feeling. The rice gets so light because soaked in the soup. But, honestly taste delicious and I can't even eat half of the can. Again, it's only 100 calorie creamy soup and I never can finish the whole can!!! So, perhaps only 85 calories including the rice? Also, my Protein shakes fill me...one scoop of protein (chocolate), 1 cup of skim milk, 5 ice cubes, and 1/2 banana blended...this actually taste yummy! This is about 33 grams of protein in just one shake. Hope this helps!
  7. Hi there, I was banded on 2/26, so only the Friday before you. It sounds like burping and full feeling for describing is the air from going under. It's going to take a couple of days to work itself way out. What I did is slept elevated in a chair or in my bed with tons of pillow underneath. You don't want that air to get stuck in your chest and lower stomach and that's what happens when you lie flat, the air just evens out instead of just heading up. I'd try that. If it continues after the weekend, I suggest calling your surgeon and asking about gas relief pills. Additionally, I was able to drink absolutely normal since my surgery. Just feel more full quicker. But, liquids should eventually feel more confortable to drink. Maybe your throat is still sore from the breathing tube they put down your throat???? Or your body is really uncomfortable with all that air in there. Best of luck with everything!!!:smile2:

    Really?? Cardiac clearance!!

My insurance denied me the first time I applied to have this surgery. The waiting game was fustrating because I was ready to have my surgery and start my new life. Stay strong and keep on top of them. They will work quicker with your persistence.

    Totally devastated

If your co-worker has just quit smoking, she is probably cranky and making you feel bad makes her feel better, when deep down inside she's feeling like crap. Be the better person...38 lbs is such an accomplishment and a motivation to me, who is only 2 day post-op. I only wish I was at the point I have losted 38 lbs pounds already. Keep up the great work! Focus on how your doing great and how many other people you are inspiring. P.S. You didn't do it for nothing...you did it for yourself...and that's all that matters! :wink2:
  10. Any kind of surgery can be scary. Even something as minor as getting wisdom teeth pulled. It's okay to be scared. We have all maybe choices we may have regreted in our past. But, we are the strong people who have decided we want to change and want to improve our lifestyle. There's no shame in this surgery. As a person, who only had surgery two days ago, I am feeling great with minimal pain. Remember, through your journey focus on your new life to come, not thinking about what you should have done, because we can't change the past. But, we can make wise decisions that improve our future. I wish you the best on your surgery and a speedy recover. Don't push your body....take it easy and surround yourself with people who are supportive and are happy to help you. I must admit the hardest part for me the 1st day was just the air coming up from going under. It felt like I was choking on air and was going to throw up but I didn't. Remember, to take a deep breathe, walk it out, and remember it's absolutely normal. Also, pay attention to your body. I know I need my pain relievers every 3-4 hours to comfortably sit and stand, and use the bathroom. Make sure you give yourself the opportunity to comfortably, controllable recover. Please let me know if you have any questions that you think would make you feel better going into surgery. Most important, feel confident going in...that will make all the difference in your recovery.

Additionally, my surgery is a secret amongst my girlfriends, keep in mind, you did this for you! So, take your victory walk and jump for joy in the mirror, because the person who is going to be most excited for you in the pretty lady in the reflection...you!

    Yesterday started my new life!

I had surgery yesterday, February 26th. Walked in feeling confident and strong. Lefted feeling the same, just a little sore. With the pain relievers, the pain is very controllable. The worst was the air bubbles coming up that made me feel like I was choking on air. I feel so thankful my mom, a nurse, was there to support me through it all. Today, I feel even better. Still alittle sore, but again controllable. Often very drowsy after taking the pain relievers. At least, I've become very percise about when I need to take it. It's pretty consistent at every 3 hours. Any advice or helpful hints are appreciated! I am really excited to get my first fill. But, I still have 4 weeks to wait. I really want to start losing weight asap...I am getting married in 7 months.
