I was 100 pounds overwieght and had tried everything to get it off and nothing seemed to work.  I was encouraged by some friends to see their surgeon for the procedure.  I had it done in March of 2007.  I had to stay an extra day in the hospital due to complications.  Unfortunately, it has been a long a rocky road for me.  I have never faired well with the band and have had many problems since the procedure.  The inability to tolerate beef, not fatty beef any beef.  No vegetables except lettuce and just certain foods for whatever reason just didn't sit with me and I would constantly vomit.  Needless to say after a three month fiasco with a regular GI doctor who thought I now had Chrohns disease, I found out my band had slipped and my stomach was kinked.  This was causing me to vomit everything I ate for three months.  I was very ill and had the band removed just recently.
