Hey Everyone, It has been a while since I have been on the boards. But I just wanted to some things with you all. I HAVE BEEN STRUGGLING THIS PAST FEW WEEKS. Over the past few weeks, I have not exercised like I should. I have been constantly snacking and just feeling…BLAH. I have even lost my love for running. Not that I was a big time runner anyway, but I do like to so what I call”Jalkwing” (jogging and walking). A few weeks ago I had a adjustment and it was too tight…I lost like 13 lbs in 7 days and was not able to keep anything down, so I decided to get it removed and I think he took out too much. I am now back to 193 lbs …that is like 6 lbs more than I gained when I started drinking after the removal. Sugar is my weakness and I have been indulging. I do not want to be really skinny, but I do think that I want to go down to 170 lbs. What can I do to get my “mojo” back…I am feeling so fat and bloated…what do I need to do to change this today!

I just had some removed yesterday after trying to tough out a week. I felt like I was dying. I am at my sweet spot now. No more fills for a while!

Yesterday. I had to have .5 ccs taken out. I was way too tight and lost l like 11 lbs in a week. I am back to 7.5 and I am good. I would nevet recommend staying tight. I thought I was dying really.

CALLING ALL JULY 2010 BANSTERS!!!
tab1975 replied to dlynn1635's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey All, I just wanted to check in with you all and I wanted to let you all know that as of Jan 3, 2012,,,I have lost.....100 POUNDS!!!!!!!!!!! I had my surgery on 7/28/2010 and I have to say that it has been one heck of a journey. In the time since my surgery, I hit a major plateau in spring of 2011 and I decided after July 4th...watching my BFF run the Peachtree Road Race here in Atlanta...I saw people of all shades & sizes...running and walking and I decided that I wanted to run. I started the Couch to 5K meetup group that was near me and I started to run. I LOVE IT. I recently started running with a group BLACK GIRLS RUN! I have now ran three 5k and one 10K. This year I plan to run a half marathon relay and about 5 or 6 5K's 2 10K...including the Peachtree Road Race! I am still so overwhelmed by my loss and I still have about 20 lbs to go...I know this is where the rubber meets the road, but I know that it is going to happen. I urge all of you that are on this journey to KEEP GOING! I just have to work on my strength training and I will be golden. I even went to see a plastic surgeon about my tummy tuck and breast lift (sorry males that are reading this...LOL)...taking it one day at a time. I just wanted to share this update...I wish you all LOVE AND LIGHT! -
Hey Wayne, I am Tammara, and I just did my first 5K this past weekend. It was called the FireFly 5k and it was held in Atlanta. I had a ball. I have been doing the couch to 5k program for a while and I decided to do the run. One of the best things I have done. I also run with a group here in the ATL called Black Girls Run. They are the best and they keep me motivated to do more and more. I am also thinking of doing a 5K this Thanksgiving. I think that it will be fun! And dont worry about finishing last. It is that you finished. BTW my run time was 48:01!!!!! and there were plenty others behind me! "The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start." Go get em!!!!!! Tammara

tab1975 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey All In May, I had my 5th fill which puts me at 7.5 cc's in the 14cc realize band. Since I got that fill I can tell u that two bites of anything and I am full...to the point where there is throwing up at times with alot of slime. I am tight all day and I find that I am drinking more than I am eating, But it is usally juice, and soda(which hurts...but I crave it) I do not want to have an unfil what I want to do is find things that I can eat. I know there are others like me on here and I would love to find out what you know. Thanks in advance! -
Hey all I dont post here all the time, but from time to time I lurk...SO HI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted to ask you guys here...how do you guys tell the difference between head hunger and true hunger. I ask this due to the fact that I fight this all time. I deal with ...It is noon...time to eat...but when i eat, I cant get it down. So I waste my money on food. I do think that my issues are deeper as I am still doing things that I am not supposed to do. I still eat bread, drink soda and not excercise so I have not lost alot of weight, But I stil want to know how to tell the difference.

Does anyone know the name of that cable weight loss show?
tab1975 replied to LargeMediumSmall's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The show was on MTV and it is called...True Life...I hate my body...He was from a greek family. Yes his family was not supoortive. He was going to have a body lift. It was a good show and a repeat. The show also had other bariatric patients. -
So, I had my surgery 3 months ago as on 10/28/2010. Since I started the pre op diet at 310 lbs. I am now at 281. That is about 29 lbs in 3 months. Now I have to say that the fact that I have gone down in pant size, bra size and waste size if good and I am happy that I did, but like with before the surgery, I am having an issue with eating and exercise. I do not tend to set myself up for success. I tend to just sabotage myself. I eat a lot of fast food and since I do not really have issues with food since the surgery I am eating everything. I am not exercising at all. I hate it some much and due to my job draining me daily and then going back to school ( and not really enjoying that), I have no time to exercise. I just want to lose this weight and I am truly wishing that I had gastric bypass. This slow loss is killing me. I just need some inspiration…not motivation…that is fleeting. I need to know that I did the right thing and what are successful people doing that I can do!

What is happening to me?????????????
tab1975 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
:confused:Ok, it has taken me a while to post on the boards. surgery - 7/27 1st fill - 9/7 Since 2/2010 when I started the process for surgery, I have lost 27.4 lbs. Right now I am feeling very uneasy. I have had a pain in my chest for about 4 days. When I breathe in, it hurts and sometime I feel a burning in my chest and right now I feel a burning in my stomach. I have no clue what is happening, but I am scared. I have to say that I am making this more complicated that it really is losing weight. I really am scared to eat. I have had a realtionship with fast food for a long time and I am lazy. I hate to cook and if I leave the cooking to my mother that lives with me, I am not going to get all that I need. Tonight she made fried fish and I ate it. I dont plan my meals well as I am scared to eat, but also scared to lose weight also. I just need someone to tell me if I am crazy or not. Give me a few meal plans and tell me what the heck is this pain and burning. I want to be successful. I may just be scared of the success! -
Ok people I went on my 2 week appt today. All is well...I lost 12 lbs. I asked questions about my mushies. They told me that I am on pureed foods for the next 4 weeks. My first fill is on 9/7. Since for the next four weeks I will be on purees(honestly...will be doing a few soft meals in between). I want to make sure I am full and that I am getting my Protein and enjoy eating it. If anyone has any ideas or recepies, they will be so appreciated. Mind you...I dont do yogurt, oatmeal, grits, porridge, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese. I know that is alot...But I just wanted to let u all know...But your help is so appreciated!!!!

A little over one week post op and already hungry!?!?!
tab1975 replied to Rebeccastl615's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I go for my 2 week followup this wednesday. I started eating my mushies today. I do not put too many things in the blender...the thought is not appealing to me. And when I do put them in the blender, do not add too much liquid...I still need it to have substance. But after wednesday, I am going hard on my workouts and my protein...no excuses. I want my mind to get around this new life. BTW...is anyone tired of sugar free...the after taste is getting to me at this point. -
Hey, I just want to know if there are any Dr. Macik patients here on the board, I had my surgery on 7/28 and about to go on puree portion of the diet and not looking forward to it. I wanted to know if anyone bypassed that part and just did the soft foods. Pls adv. I like Dr Macik, but I am not a fan of blendning my foods like I am a baby. Seems very NASTY to me...Just my Opinion.
