Congratulations to everyone being banded today and this week! I haven't posted much, but you have really inspired and encouraged me. My surgery is one week away from today on 10/31. The surgery is paid for now so seems a little more real. I am on the 10 day liquid preop diet and haven't been super compliant:cry today. I am planning a vanilla atkins carb control shake for dinner and will do better tomorrow!! My husband has been very supportive of the lap band surgery and he hopes to have it in the Spring (when the bank account is replenished:). I am starting to tell a few of my close friends about the surgery and everyone has been positive/supportive. I have shopped for all of the must have preop lap band items and filled prescriptions. Also cleaned and tried to catch up loose ends at work - NESTING :girl_hug: I am feeling excited and nervous. I bought gas x strips and chloraseptic strips. Hope everyone is doing well!

Hi Carrie - So sorry to hear you are having pain right now. I encourage you to put yourself first and find out what is really going on. It is difficult to take care of others without taking care of yourself. Keep us posted & will be thinking about you.

Thanks Stacey, Thanks so much for your reply. It is hard to get over the injustice of my insurance denial, and paying soooooo much to have insurance, only to discover I have a written exclusion for weight loss surgery. While I have worked to save up the money for surgery, I feel guilty. It seems unfair that some patients have no out of pocket cost and some bear the entire cost. I am trying to get over this and see the bigger (or smaller) picture, it is not easy.

your surgery date is coming up - congratulations. Mine is 10/31 and my doctor requires a 10 day liquid diet pre op (atkins or carb control high protein shakes, not slimfast) and then nothing by mouth after midnight before surgery. :girl_hug:
