  1. . Hello Yatinthakkar! I had the exact thing done this morning as well! =) I don't feel much pain, just uncomfortable from the gas they pumped in and walking every hour as instructed to rid of it. I too will be back to my desk job on Monday, congrats!
  2. Hello! I have UHC and my surgery is scheduled for April 23 =) my paperwork went in on 3-25-10 and I had approval by 4-1-10. My coworker on the other hand got her approval in 3 days and we have the exact same insurance. I think it depends on who receives your file once it gets to UHC. Good luck!

  4. I am getting banded on April 23rd as well! Very excited about it, the day can not come fast enough! I have been on my pre op diet for a week now, basically high protein low carb. The surgical center has yet to give me an exact surgery time, but I am sure I will find that out before next Friday =) Good luck to all of you and blessings for a smooth and easy surgery and recovery.

    calling insurance

I have UHC and I used to call them at least once a week asking "I am calling to check on the status of a pre dermination that was submitted by my provider" each time they would tell me they are not showing anything in the system and that by law they have 30 days to review and give a response. My last call was on April 2, 2010 where they told me the same line, and that weekend I received a letter in the mail stating I was approved and it was dated April 1, 2010 ... The surgeon received a copy as well, but not my provider so they were not able to notify me sooner of my approval and surgery date ... Moral of the story - sometimes calling insurance does not make it go any faster, especially when they are not organized on thier end, haha.

    A lot of stuff....

I have united health care as well and with the plan that I have from my employer it went fairly quickly. Went to a seminar 2-27-10, Appt with PCP 3-2-10, had blood work, sleep test, barium test and spoke with a nutritionist. Paper work sent to insurance on 3-25-10, was approved on 4-1-10. Surgery is scheduled for 4-23, currently on pre op diet =D
