I knew I needed to do something when I could'nt go up a flight of stairs without getting short of breath..and playing games with my kids was getting harder and harder. My cholesteral levels were up and i had stomach problems as well as acid reflux. I am 39 years young and these things should'nt happen yet.... Whats even worse is I thought i looked okay.. then it was when are you due?..ps I AM NOT PREGNANT.. WOW what a shock and i work in a doctors office....I thought i would need mouth to mouth after that ... but no i asked questions and got the answers i needed for me to start a new life and at 217 lbs. Nov 4 2009 My first appt was a group meeting were i asked lots of questions ...how safe is the lab band and how quikly would i be able to go back to work ...VERY IMPORTANT..especially in our economy ..everyday counts...well i was very surprised at the responses i recieved and the results i saw at that meeting that i quickly signed up to meet one on one with dr.bono....Dec 3 weight 217..At my first appt i spoke with the coordinator who explained the lap band in more detial at what to expect after surgery...then i met with the dietician who gave me a rundown of the commitment that is required to lose the weight and keep it off....after that i knew i really had to search my soul to see if i was ready for my life change...and did i ever search deep down i knew i had no choice...the drinking thing really got me ...then i met with Dr. Bono who made me laugh and very comfortable.. I knew i made the right choice in doctors.. he went over my chart and what to expect surgery wize..then got me started with all the appts to make sure i was able to have surgery and was stable in my mind and commited to a life changing surgery..PS I PASSED..Feb 3 surgery date ...wooohoooo...I was ready no nerves to make me back out..went in at 10 am out in 20 minutes...no problems said dr. bono ..while in the hospital afterwards nothing to drink or eat..that was the worst part..my mouth was so dry i was squabbing my mouth ever 5 minutes...over nite my oxygen levels dropped to 77 with no symptoms..meaning i wasnt turning blue..lol.. after that i was put on o2 and the dr. came to see me twice after surgery...always calling the floor to check up on me....next day Dr. Bono came to see how i was and asked if i wanted to go home....most definetly i said oxygen level back up and i was released...Feb 5 back to work ... I think I pushed the issue there because my pressure dropped ..my heart rate went way up ..and i ended in the ER ...Dr.Bono came straight down and so did jane the coordinator...I had to wait awhile to get some test done and IV fluids..but i was released 8 hrs later with dizziness unknown....what ever that meant..went home and slept..went to work everyday after feeling dizzy but as the week followed i felt great ..eating pureed foods was'nt so bad either..Feb 18 Dr. visit weight 197 AMAZING 20 lbs i was so excited ....and got a good job from everyone ...cant wait till my first fill and to bye new clothes...ta ta for now....DANI
