I am a 36 year old single mom of a 8 year little girl. I recently decided to do lap band. My bestfriend and I have decided to take this on together.  I currently suffer from Lupus and RA.  I would like to blame my almost 100 pound weight gain on my daughter but I can't.  I weigh now more than I did 9 months pregnant.  I think with the combination of depression and my illness  my weight just slipped away from me. I am 5'10 and I weigh 250. I am a nurse and I really should know better but wairing scrubs all day everyday has not helped the matter. Its only help hide how I really feel when I put on regular clothes. I kinda felt ashame during my intial seminar because I was the smallest one in the room on the outside but on the inside I feel so unhealthy. I get short of breathe going up steps and to bend over to tie my shoes is uncomfrontable. My joints hurt and I am having severe insomnia with some sleep apena now.  Because of the amount of fatigue, pain and motivation i have picked up almost 100 pds in about 4 years.   My blood pressure is a constant 160's and 170's on top and any where from 90 to 134 on the bottom with medication on board. I am a little nervous about the 4 weeks of no solid foods.  I am looking at a estimated surgery date of 6/2010.  I am not able to actively exercise without pain and I eat i think now just because of stress and anxiety.  I am excited about the surgery and I am hoping to get the old me back. I just recently looked at some photos of me and I asked how did I get here?  If anyone has some advice on the surgery please send me a msg! I need all the encourgement that I can get! Thanks
