  1. Happy 30th Birthday Jessk982!

  2. First let me say, I love my band, although I only seem to post when it's giving me a problem....so far 150 pounds down and another 70 to go!!!! Here's the problem: This morning, super early I woke up thirsty and took a big gulp of Water without even thinking. Stupid, I know. Anyway the water went down...eventually, but I think I've irritated my band. I can get fluids down, I haven't and won't try anything else today, but I have a fair amount of pain radiating from my stomach. Not just that, but it takes a few second for the water to pass. I'm fairly certain that I'm being paranoid here, but I'm just wondering if anyone else would be concerned? Is it possible the band slipped or have I just irritated it and I need to give it a few days? It was just water, but this seems like a crazy reaction to water, but it was first thing in the morning before I'd even woken up. As a side note, my band can't tolerate anything in the morning and for Breakfast, I tend to just sip on a glass of milk. Thanks for the advice.
  3. Hello Everybody, I was banded on April of 09 and have lost a total of 100 pounds, but I still have another 100 to go. I was just wondering if there was anyone out there who would like a support buddy? I'd love to find someone I can email, call or text when I'm having a really bad day and, obviously, I'd do the same for them. I love the LAP-BAND® and I know it's done a lot for me, I just feel like I've hit a plateau and I need a little tough love to boost my willpower. Thanks, Jess

    Looking for a Buddy

Hello Everybody, I was banded on April of 09 and have lost a total of 100 pounds, but I still have another 100 to go. I was just wondering if there was anyone out there who would like a support buddy? I'd love to find someone I can email, call or text when I'm having a really bad day and, obviously, I'd do the same for them. I love the lap band and I know it's done a lot for me, I just feel like I've hit a plateau and I need a little extra boost to my willpower. 5. Ok so I have have the lap band for a little over a year now and, for the most part, everything's been great. I've lost almost 100 pounds and don't regret doing it, but for the last three months I feel like I've had problem after problem. It started when I went for a fill, then got home and couldn't eat of drink anything. I went for an unfill and it was better. Then for the next three consecutive fills, I had the same problem where I'd have to go for an unfill right afterwards. During this time there was a lot of vomiting during the last two, too tight episodes pain in the stomach area. I then went on vacation after getting a fill, everything was fine but ten days later I couldn't eat or drink anything and the pain was back. I went to the ER, had an x-ray where the surgeon I say, not my regular surgeon, said the band had slipped. He took out all of the fluid waited a few hours and then had me do a barium swallow and pronounced that the band had righted itself. A month later I go back to my regular doctor (this was today) tell him the story and he fills me up (6 cc's, the er doc had taken out 7cc's). Now I can drink just fine, I can't try food yet, but I have the intense, throbbing pain in my chest, stomach area. It won't go away despite me taking pain medication. Anyone ever have these issues?
  6. Hello Everyone, I'm trying to see if anyone else has had the same problem that I've been experiencing and if so what they've been doing about it? The last three times I've gone for a fill everything has gone according to plan and I've had no problem swallowing down the Water my doctor gives me afterwards. Then I get home and attempt to have some milk and it won't do down, nothing will go down, not even water. I don't understand why this happens. I'm very frustrated because I then have to call my doctor and go in for an unfill the next day. My band was not too full before I went for the fill. I'd been eating whole sandwiches without an issue so I know I needed the fill. Anyone have this problem? Is there anything I can do without having to call my doctor again? Thanks!
