What foods get stuck in your band?
snowbear replied to use-to-be-cute's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have done fine on eggs but breads I can't have. I have had a lot of trouble in the last 5 weeks. Did not get a fill last appt due to vomiting and trouble eating. I still do shakes alot to get protein since I have been losing hair which scare's me! I know sometimes I forget and do not chew well. It is hard when you are with friends and you forget! I have to watch chicken that seems to give me a hard time. I am glad to hear others have these problems also! -
band slippage :( and questions
snowbear replied to tyler13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am worried about the same thing. I have had vomiting on and off since first fill. I had surgery June 1st. Now I never know what will stay down. How do they know if it has slipped? -
I was banded june 1st. Had a few stuck moments but did ok. I had my first fill 7/22 1cc. I was surprised that I had 4.5 cc already in the band. Since the fill I have had several stuck moments on soft food that I did not have trouble with before and have vomited 4 times. Then I have days like today that have been good. So I am not sure what to expect but I know I do not like to be STUCK!! :blushing:

Thanks Sandy! I found my port it is on the left side and it is tender more so than the others. I feel pretty good now a week out. I did hope I would be back to work but I get so tried! So I will go back on the 15th. I do have to tell myself that I can't do it all! I do feel that I am doing well with liquids but trying to get more protein in!

snowbear replied to candy rain's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on June 1st! 6 days out now and feeling better:thumbup: For all of you waiting to go this month, The diet is not that bad I was on it two weeks I did cheat once and was worried!! needed to lose 12 lbs prior and lost 15 lbs... good luck ,Lots of deep breaths! Looking foward to all of us meeting our GOALS:thumbup: -
I am 6 days out and I think final feeling better. Day 2 was fine then day 3 and 4 sucked. I even called the doctor because I though I should be feeling better the left sholder pain final is gone but my lungs were hurting! Taking lots of deep breaths, went on 15-20 min walks daily seems to be helping. I was worried about this quick pain that I get from my chest up to my thorat??? a bubble? I feel like I have caught up on my fluids now. liquid food is getting better,I do feel hungry now 1/4 cup of cream of wheat and Mashed potatoes then 2 4oz protein drink and my fluids thats it for the day. I am still not sure where my port is?? Does anyone know where they put them?? I have just sorness now. I know when I look back at this it will be the end GOAL that is important:thumbup: Thanks for listening!!

I also was banded june 1st! I agree the pain is not so bad. The left shoulder pain was the worst. Doing fine with jello popciles and water. I even went to a baby shower for a few hours and did ok. I am wondering were the port is I have five bandaids and I am not sure where they put it??

I am going today @2pm:thumbup: I am excited and scared at the same time. I did not sleep well last night drank lots of fluids so I was up and down to the bathroom all night! I was cleaning my house all day yesterday, I know I was being obsessive but my family was great about it. This morning had to clean more!! Now I am just getting thirsty but not hungry. I am not to worried about surgery itself it is more after trying to make sure I can get liquids down and getting through the stages! I am going to miss my liquid diet I got use to it!! I did have a nice dinner last night that was a mistake:mad: I was miserable and glad that my husband cooked at home and we did not go out. I am ready to change my life and start new!!

I had a surgery date 5/18/10. I was already a bit nervous! On the day of the pre-op class 5/12 I found out that my dad needs to have open heart surgery which is scheduled for 5/17 so I had to cancel. I know there is a reason why this happens but it was hard. I had been waiting for this date, i was already on the liquid diet and getting use to it. The next day I went to see my sugeron and told him I had to cancel. I was able to get a new date right away 6/1/10:thumbup: So now I can go spend time with my dad and be there for him! Now I feel ready to go and be a June bandster!! We do have to find a name for June but I am not good with coming up with a name either!

Hi I just got my date May 18,2010! I was hoping for April but glad to have a date. I had already started the liquid diet because they thought I would get a date in April. I have lost ten pounds already so they said I could go back to step two which means I can have one meal. Now I am worried about eating one meal a day. I feel I am use to the liquid diet. I can't wait to have surgery and start a new beginning

I got approval for surgery on Wednesday: thumbup: How long does it take to get a date?? I am with WSG in Reno, NV. I have already started my liquid diet.

I too have started my liquid diet 3 days ago. I am having a hard time! My husband is out of town a lot during the week which means I have to make sure the kids get feed. If my husband is home he cooks and I go down stairs and ride the bike so I don't smell the food. I have had carrots and a few crackers. I to wonder what to due when we go out to dinner at someone's house for dinner. I am waiting for them to let me know my surgery date which should be by the end of April. I have hope this get's easier!!
