I have been obese my entire life, and it has become more of a problem during my high school career. I am now up to 296.4 pounds and I am scheduled for surgery on March 2nd 2010. My mother had a Gastric Bypass about 5 years ago, and I have been planning for this surgery since then. I just turned 18, and I am totally prepared for this surgery. I have tried many different diets with little success, and now I am close to 300 pounds and insulin resistant, making it nearly impossible to lose weight. Although I am prepared for the upcoming surgery, I joined to express my concerns and excitment, as well as getting support from post-op patients.
