I too have sister issues. My one sister is amazing and truly my very best friend. My other sister... I love her, and I mean it when she is in B.C. (like over 2000 k from me). When we get together, we are 14 and 16 again. Crazy isn't it. She told me she was very supportive of me and understood the need for me to 'fix my life'. Okay she is a size 24 and yeah I used to be a 34, but come on, like she doesn't hae issues too!!! Now that I am a size 18, she won't mention weight or comment about my lose at all. Funny how she mentioned it all the time before hand. Geez... sisters... takes all kinds!! Dawn Banded April 4th 2006 (Montreal) Fill June 9th 2006

April 2006 Bandits December Challenge
DeltaDawn replied to JulieNYC's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yep, People really do live in the Arctic. I moved here 13 years ago to teach in an Inuit community and I am now the curriculum consultant for the school board. You can only get here by flying in and winter is here now until April at least. My husband is a real trooper. He bicycles and right now he is out with his studded tires biking. It is -20 and he is still out. As for me, I do aerobics in the morning and weight training (with my hubby) in the evening. When we came to the arctic (btw I am Canadian) we thought we would stay for 1 year, but some things are just a good fit. This group is so supportive. Thanks everyone... and some day I'll tell you about getting Water trucked to your houses (no underground pipes... perma frost) Dawn Banded April 4, 2006 Montreal <a href="http://www.TickerFactory.com/"> <img border="0" src="http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/d/3;19;66;0;1/c/220/t/180/s/358/k/d1ea/weight.png"></a> -
April 2006 Bandits December Challenge
DeltaDawn replied to JulieNYC's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
HI Bluehill, I lost 12 lbs prior to being banded due to the preop diet of Optifast only, but the rest has been since the banding date. I feel pretty lucky in that I have lost evenly throughout the entire time to date. It was a little quicker at the beginning, but now it seems to be about 10 lbs a month. I am really happy with that. When it began to slow down in August, I added the exercise portion, so that has helped a lot too. I notice that our banding dates are close, how are you finding it? EVeryone here is so supportive. good to chat to you. Dawn <o></o> Banded April 4th 2006 - Montreal Fill June 9th 2006 -
I think I will try for 215 by Christmas... but I have a feeling I won't make it. I have two more business trips before then and it is harder when I am away and eating a restaurants all the time!!! Dawn Banded April 4th 2006 (Montreal) Fill June 9th 2006

Hi! My big NSV- I bought a sweater at a normal, everyday store the other day!!! It is a n X-L, but still it felt great. My new jeans are a 16P (plus which is bigger than a regular 16). So... I am thrilled and motivated to keep it going!!! Dawn Banded April 4th 2006 (Montreal) Fill June 9th 2006

April 2006 Bandits December Challenge
DeltaDawn replied to JulieNYC's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am going to try to get in on this challenge. I have been pretty quite, but I am an April banded girl. This month I have exercised 3 times so far. I live in the Artic so outside time can be limited... but I am working hard at home. This challenge should be really supportive. Thanks, Dawn <o></o> Banded April 4th 2006 Montreal<st1><st1:city w:st="on"></st1:city></st1> Fill June 9th 2006 -

HI guys, I just wanted to update you on my Christmas goal. Well, I was hoping to lose 12 lbs and get to 220. Well, my ticker will tell you. I weighed in this morning and 220 it is. I was writing in in my journal and wrote 320.. opps... guess I am still not used to the number 2 as a starter. Also, I went shopping in Quebec City and bought a sweater at a regular store!!! It is an extra large and probably a big one at that... but it was really exciting. Thanks for all the support everyone!! Dawn Banded April 4th 2006 (Montreal) Fill June 9th 2006

Hi, Yep,, My husband and daughter snowshoed into the bush and got a beuaty of a tree yesterday- 15 feet tall. I am a big Christmas person and have only one of a kind, decorations- mostly gifts. So.. you know how much I love it. and this moring, my lovely 4 year old hugged her new frined treey... and knocked it over. Including smashing 5 ornaments- 1 had for 20 years and 1 was the last gift from a friend who since passed away. I felt so sorry for my little girl, who said she never saw me so sad. But... it was an accident and Chrismtas is all about love and forgiveness. So.. yep the tree is up, albeit a little bare in spots now! Dawn Banded April 4th 2006 (Montreal) Fill June 9th 2006

Hi guys, Well, I guess it is my turn to start a new thread. I am really wondering about fills and whether I should have another one or not. I would appreciate your opinions and thoughts. I am still losing well (better than I thought only 3 lbs to go to hit my Christmas goal- I am averaging around 2.5 lbs per week). But it is a lot of work to get there. I am scheduled for a fill on November 29th and since I have to fly down to get it, it is kind of important that I do it when I can. But... I have had no problems - no pb's no getting stuck. Yep I have restriction but that's it. And I am going to my in-laws for 2 weeks at Christmas and I don't want to be so tight that it is crazy. So... all of this to say... should I get a fill or wait until after Christmas. I am sure like many of you that I am terrified of not getting it done and then gaining weight (do we ever loose that fear?). I would love your thoughts out there. Thanks, Dawn Banded April 4th, 2006 Montreal :help:

Thanks for not mincing words Yoda!!! I think I just needed to hear it. Of course this weekend I was up 2 lbs (seems my cycle is lose 3 or 4 during the week and then gain 1 or 2 on the weekend.) I think you guys are right and I will wait it out a bit more/ Thanks a lot.

Hi Argon, I was living in Quebec (the Arctic region- skidooing yesterday yee haw). SSQ is my insurance provider. I work for a school board and it is their 'professional' (i.e. the teachers don't get it- which I think sucks) insurance line so it is handled by the government. But, the really great secretary at the dr office said many will cover the band itself. Just thought I would let you know!!! Dawn Banded April 4, 2006 Montreal

My insurance provider covered the cost of the band (up to $4000) as it was considered a medical device (akin to a wheelchair). But otherwise the entire cost was mine. Good luck to you!! Dawn Banded April 4th, 2006 Montreal
